Rod holder pin that keeps the rod aligned broke
The rod holder pin that keeps the rod aligned broke and caused the rod to spin.Be aware that you have to use 316 stainless screws or bolts and lock nuts so they will not rust. The cheap 18/8 screws and bolts will electrolysis and cause them to develop surface rust.

SOLID AS A ROCK!
I needed a very solid rod holder able to hold my 9/0 Senators with matching rods. Plastic just not cutting it, had to be steel, stainless steel. It had to be affodable too since I'm a disabled, and on a fixed income. I was really surprised how heavy and solid these things were , not stamped sheet metal but castings, and heavy gauge stainless pipe. I read other's comments about there'e not holding up, and forming surface rust. My boat is under cover, and I always wash it down with fresh water then mist with silicone spray. Still looks good as new a month after purchase. I'm happy, and would recommend this product without hesitation.
