I'll tell you what I wondered. The can covers a lot more area/has a many more applications than a 5 pack of the 2 x 3 inch patches that are supposed to last up to 12 hours and the cost is approximately the same. No, it not as long lasting. I was getting 4 to 6 hours of relief from the spray but it's a piece of cake to apply more and you can apply it up to 4 times a day. Hold your breath when you spray though. That stuff is intense on the sinuses. Oh, and it's not the most pleasant smelling when wet but, once dry it seems pretty reasonable. All of that said, I bought a pack of the patches (which I had already been using) along with the can because the can was an unknown and I didn't want to be in pain all night until I could get more patches. I haven't opened the patches (which is good because you only get 14 days to use them once you open the pack) and I've used the can about 8 times now. For a sort of pain level reference, I use this product on my shoulder. I have a small rotator cuff tear, bone spurs, and a bit of arthritis in the same joint and, at times, the pain will radiate down my arm and up my neck if I don't treat it. It doesn't erase the pain but it does make it completely reasonable and allows me to sleep and keeps it from running amok. I am very pleased.

I sprain my back and A friend highly recommended Salonpas, I love this product I have tried other pain relievers and I have to say this is the best one I’ve ever tried and I’m going to be using this forever! As soon as you spray the pain is gone, Spray is light not thick plus the odor is light not long lasting smell, when you spray it is a little cold BUT It works instantly warming up the area. I highly recommend this pain reliever, My advice is keep a spare bottle on hand very hard to find in the stores.

I have serious spinal issues. Multiple surgeries. Deep pain. I chose this item because I know people who say great things about their patches. And it has the same active ingredient as Bio Freeze plus an extra pain relief ingredient. I live alone and needed something I could spray on my back by myself. It definitely works. I would say moderate pain relief that last pretty long. I combine it with a lidocaine spray and that seems to help make this more effective. If someone like me with serious issues and intense pain gets moderate relief, I think anyone who has less issues will get great pain relief

A nice spray bottle. What I like is the ease of use of this spray because the nozzle is recessed and finger placement is secure. Other spray nozzles are stiff and somewhat slippery after use. Also with this one, it tells you where the nozzle is pointed at, which with the other sprays can be guesswork, especially when one needs it around the shoulder or neck areas in back. My only complaint is that its content does not last long. It is empty before you know it. Otherwise, I really like it.

I discovered Salonpas back when the patches were the only products available on US market. A friend recommended it for pain relief with a sprain. I was amazed with the results. Since then I have used Salonpas for a recurring tennis elbow and for other aches and pains associated with..well..living. Two years ago I developed periformis syndrome and found the spray available. I am giving the spray 5 stars with the disclaimer that it does not cure serious sprains and injuries. It does not replace exercises or therapy or other more aggressive treatments. It does provides temporary relief so one can manage those harder activities. It is THE product for minor problems. There is such a confusion of products on the shelves now, all claiming to be the best, all promising miraculous relief. Believe me, I've tried too many of them. Salonpas spray and patches stay in my medicine chest. I believe in it so strongly that I actually wrote the company a fan letter.
