I have never had a problem with it keeping me from sleeping.

is the product fragrance free?

I would say about 99% fragrance free. If there is a fragrance, it is so slight that you have to try really hard to smell it. I myself cannot use any overly perfumed scented products, as I get an allergic reaction (stuffed up nose, runny eyes and a headache). I have absolutely no problem with any of the Lily Sado products that I use.

Since this contains vitamin c, must spf protection be applied after during day use?

I only applied SFF if I was going to be out in the sun all day

It doesn’t list percentage on the package, but Vitamin C is listed as the 4th ingredient out of the 16 ingredients listed.
