Pro: fits a variety of handguns. Also has room for important papers. Very heavy! I like the low profile.Con: is a pain in the rear to set the biometric up! Due to its weight and the way the biometric set up is, one needs to be a contortionist to get the biometric to read and that is if it will read your print!Although one can use a key to access the safe I bought this for the biometric feature. I have yet to get it to work! Tip: use brand new batteries!I would have given this a higher rating if the biometric wasn't so difficult to try to set.

Our grandkids were moving in and we needed something FAST. Found this, liked the reviews, and jumped on it. So far, we are very happy. Easily fits our two bedside firearms. This is a very solid piece of equipment. I'm not worried around the kids at all. They are not defeating this system.

WARNING Do not purchase this safe! First the thumb feature does not work well. It will not read your thumb 70% of the time. Second I lost the keys to the safe. Amazon advised to reach out to costway, which I did, costway answered me and told me there was nothing they could do because I purchased it from Amazon and needed to contact Amazon. I think Costway is out of China so there is no way for me to call there directly. I’ll try calling Amazon to see if I can get help. But bottom line is the safe is poor quality and the thumb feature is bad.

The Costway Biometric Gun Safe is easy to set up, well built, user friendly and combines all three security/access features on it.If you need something affordable and will ease your mind about keeping your kids out of your guns and reduce risk of theft, this is a great safe to have.The safe box contains the following:The SafeMounting hardware4 Soft pads2 Laser Engraved keys4 AA BatteriesUser ManualStructureThe safe is made of solid steel. With no visible welding or weak points. The door and the door hinge do have some wide spots which I didn't like much. Those gabs can easily be used to try pry open the vault and are weak points. It can simply be an adjustment mistake and might be corrected easily but I don't know how. Would I put my guns in to this? Yes! Because the main purpose of this safe is to keep guns from unauthorized access, mainly from kids and this will do the job from that perspective. Still, I wish the door was better aligned before getting shipped. One star goes from here.The safe comes with two pre-drilled holes at the bottom. You can mount the safe through pre-drilled two holes at the bottom and the provided mounting hardware. With the provided drywall sleeves, you can practically mount this safe anywhere.The safe has a plastic frame at both sides. With the first touch and look, I liked the grooves the plastic frame provides and the easy handling. If you are going to use this safe to transport your guns/valuables from home to the car and handle it often, these are really useful.The safe has a spacious interior. Inside is padded with high quality foam. This foam not only protects the gun from scuffs scratching, but also enables the user to remove the gun silently, without clanging noises.The Safe requires 4 AA batteries and batteries are provided. These are not bad batteries and I do appreciate having them shipped with the unit.Operation:The safe combines finger print reader, keypad combination and key access features in one place.Fingerprint reader works excellent. The user's manual states it can store 50 fingerprints. I so far tried five and it does well with all five.Keypad combination also is easy to set and use.Costway Biometric Safe remembers stored fingerprints and keypad combination even after I removed batteries and put them back an hour later. That is something good, you will not have to set fingerprints and access code after battery needs to be changed..The keys are unusual. I think this type of lock is harder to pick in comparison with traditional locks but I am not an expert on that. I am glad that they put the key access point to the front. This way I will mount the safe in a way that it can't be accessed with picking tools without unmounting it from the drawer first.The door is supported with a gas strut and it opens 90 degrees up. That gives easy access to all content, which is good. However, considering this is a drawer type safe, I wish it had a limiting feature for the door; say 30 or 45 degrees. I will use a zip tie or rope to do the trick, although the gas spring is pretty strong and I don't know how durable my trick will be.Opening and closing of the lock mechanism is pretty silent. It has a beep function that is quite loud and annoying but it can be muted and unmuted easily.Nice to have safe in my opinion. It is compact, spacious and I always liked drawer type safes.

We had no problem setting up the safe with both fingerprints and a numerical code. It worked like a charm, and has opened every time we’ve tested it. The safe is roomy enough to hold two pistols with some room to spare if you have other little things you’d like to tuck inside. The safe is heavy, sturdy, and well-built. It easily fits in a drawer, under the bed, or on a closet shelf. I like that there is the option of using a key in the event the biometrics and the code fail. I’m pleased with the safe and feel confident our guns are secure.

This safe will hold 3 carry pistols or 2 full size perfect. Everyone needs this if you have pistols in the home. Entry is reliable and easy and I definitely recommend this product.

The media could not be loaded.  I am very pleased with this safe. It is sturdy and the size is perfect. I really like that it comes with 3 different ways to open it: key lock, 4-6 digit password, or with a finger print (you can add up to 50!) All of which are very easy to access and open. It's a slick looking safe and will do the perfect job for what I need.
