No issues.

It isn't "sharp" so it doesn't cut smoothly, but kind of smashes the melon. The wire sits about 1/4" in from the edge, so there is a lot of waste (and going back through pictures other reviewers have posted, I see even people who supposedly gave 4-5 stars had tons of waste). It also doesn't cut straight. Really only the piece out of the middle comes out looking like a nice, clean cut. After that it's all hacked up - and almost no pieces were a full half-circle - most were sort of S shaped. I'm willing to believe that it just takes mastering how to hold it or something, so maybe I'll try it one more time, but it looks like I'll eventually be throwing it away and going back to cutting with a knife.Update: on the second use, I was getting straighter pieces for one or two slices, but then the tool bent pretty severely, and the wire snapped.

Fun and easy tool for watermelon. Reason for two stars is the edges of the metal on the handle are not fine finished and actually cut into my hand as I was using it during a party and bleed all over the place. For those who have one I would recommend taking some sandpaper to the edges. The manufacture needs to address this.

The item looks very nice, I have not tried it since I purchased it as a Christmas present. My only complaint is that it came wit no instructions what so ever, so when my father-in-law opens the present I will have to take him to the computer to show him a Youtube on how it works. Bummer. Other than that you will receive the item in a plastic bag which is in a cardboard box, again, with NO instructions at all. It would be really nice for the manufacture to have at least put a web address to go to for instructions and/or video, so buyer beware!!

Came in bubble wrap and strange tape job. The part you have to hold is razor sharp, so it is dangerous to use. The handle needs to be covered with vinyl or something protective. I'm thinking to wrap it in duct tape. I sure hope it doesn't break as soon as others have mentioned. There are much better ones for sale (with nice covering over the handle area), but they are considerably more money.So, I used it and it broke with first use. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME. This product is a scam.

Had to figure out how to use it but when I finally got the idea on how to cut the melon, it worked fine and was easier than I find when I use just a knife. I had to try to find out how to cut the melon up to the rind which might be a problem but actually wasn't. On the whole I love it as it will work well on all melons. For the watermelon, I only buy the small personal size which are the same as a cantaloupe so all in all, I am happy with the tool

We love watermelon, but slicing them is a little bit time consuming using a knife. This gadget makes our watermelon craving more. It's convenient, no mess and easy to use. And no worries of wasting those good, sweet, red portion of the melons away. Plus it's handy, where you can use it if you are traveling, camping, or picnic. This gadget is pretty good deal!

Was so excited after seeing videos of this product; however, once we received it, it did not work as well at all. We tried cutting a watermelon and my husband and I both ended up cutting ourselves! The handle where you are supposed to hold is very sharp on the edges and unless you have a really strong grip on the product, you cannot get it to cut the watermelon. We tried holding it different ways and cutting from different directions on the watermelon but it did not work no matter what we tried. We won't use it again unfortunately:(
