Just buy it, its the best thing you can do for your classic car....
Been umming and ahhing about converting the old '78 MGB GT over from points system to electronic ignition and having just done a valve job and replaced the head gasket now was the time to make the leap..why oh why didn't i do this as soon as a i bought the car! (16 years ago..), having suffered the dreaded failed condenser and being stranded at the road side twice during that time I vow I will never go back to maintaining points and a condenser in this car ever again.Installation.. took a couple of hours, and that was at a leisurely non stressful, triple checking everything as I went pace, could have done in it 30 minutes if i rushed it...Swap out the coil pack, make note of what way the + and - terminals are and connect it up, Find a 12V ignition switched supply.. conveniently located on fuse #3 on a late MGB, quick trip to the Motor shop before installation and purchased a piggy back spade connector, snipped off the spade connector that came on the new distributor, replaced it with a piggy back one and hey presto I was wired into the 12V supply on the fuse box.take out old distributor, make a note of where the rotor arm is facing, make a note of where the HT leads go to and from, and whip the old dizzy out. You might need to take the new fixing plate off the dizzy and replace it with your old one as i did, stick the new dizzy in and line it up like the old one. Whip out your old spark plugs and stick these new ones in, connect up the HT leads in the correct order and your good to go.Fired the old girl up and she wouldn't take, gave the dizzy a little twist and she started to come alive, gave it another little adjustment and she started to run, Now with the engine running popped on a timing light and made sure the timing was spot on.Took it out for a test drive... WOW! was like a different car, this car has pinked under load the entire time i have had it.. gone... There used to be a bit of hesitancy on acceleration.. gone... The car was super responsive, purred away and ran like a dream. It brought the smile back to driving the MG. I used to dread taking it out because of how unreliable and bad to drive it had been lately.. confidence in the car has been restored. What you will need to install this... Electrical connections (although it does come with spade connectors fitted, a piggy back spade connector is helpfull), Wire crimper, some 12V test gear.. (multi meter, test lamp), A socket set, A timing gun/lamp.

Easy job, best thing we did
Absolutely easy to fit. Thought it was going to be an issue, but follow instructions and ita done. Woke the car up straight away.

Recommend
Excellent product, delivery was fast. I had to pay a customs on it because of brexit but it was well worth it. Bought it for my 1979 mgb roadster and it was easy enough to put in too.

Worked great for 3 hours
Easy to fit. But very finicky to actually get running. Ran great for 3 hours of driving then decided to stop and won't work now. Been on the car for 2 months and that's it.

All round ok!
Certainly works, cheap way of replacing the whole lot. Make sure you're confident about doing it, though... or it will cost you more!
