Great Sling
I have tried a couple of different slings, Patagonia 8L Atom and the Northface Berkley Field bag. These are both good quality slings but they did not work for me, only right side cross body wear, openings that where hard to get into, little to no organization and a bit uncomfortable. I like the Osprey Daylite the best and will not be returning it. Here is why: 1. It is very lite weight. 2. It opens like a backpack, top center two zippers and it fully opens to about 3/4 of the length of the sling. The zippers are not covered with unnecessary folds and they have nice pulls that are easy to grip for an old guy like me. 3. Internal organization pocket with zippered internal compartment with key ring lanyard. 4. Internal slip pocket for a phone, I Phone or Samsung will easily fit. I also keep a Moleskine note book, 4"x7" in there. 5. Because the sling opens like a backpack, I can also get most standard hardback books in the main compartment. 6. The front compartment fits two pairs of glasses, in the case, wallet, keys and hand sanitizer and a pen. 7. Shoulder strap attaches on the bottom of the sling for left or right cross body wear and there is a small stretch pocket at the top of the shoulder strap although I don't use it, it is very small. 8. The inside of the sling is a lite color so things don't disappear so to speak. So for the price and quality it works for me daily and for travel. Simple, smart design.

Perfect, very small day pack
This is a perfect pack for a short hike, day out at a fair, that kind of thing. It is very small - only 6L, which is about 3/4 the volume of a grocery store plastic bag. It is just big enough to hold my 24oz water bottle, a couple of ziploc bags of snacks, a rolled-up bucket hat, a small sunscreen and bug repellent, a pocket-sized pack of kleenex, hand sanitizer, wipes, chapstick, a card case-style wallet, and my keys (it has a key holder). It does not have a separate water bottle pocket, but it has a slip pocket and a zipper pocket in the main compartment and a smaller front compartment. So it won't do if you need to pack a big lunch or if you want to carry a sweatshirt or something, but it's perfect for just the basics for a few hours out. It's also comfortable to carry and the strap is very adjustable; it fits me comfortably as a medium-sized woman. I'm super happy with it and highly recommend it.

Best bag ever!
This is my favorite and go-to for travel and also just for running around town. The quality and value are impeccable as I expect from Osprey products. Used this on a trip to Switzerland and was perfect for day hikes. The space is larger than it looks as I can get a light weight rain jacket, my phone, sunglasses, lip balm, small sunscreen, Kleenex, and small water bottle in this bag for short hikes. For travel I remove the rain jacket and sunscreen and add my kindle and small airplane essentials, including a personal fan. I have gifted this bag to friends and to a new mom who prefers sporty to traditional baby bags. Thinking about getting a more colorful version!

Love all things Osprey!
I love this bag. I ordered it in this color as well as the Deep Purple. It’s a great bag for every day use, hikes, carrying around snacks, juice boxes for kids, room for phones, a small water bottle, wallet, keys. Easy over the shoulder for putting on/taking things out. The quality is top notch, durable, something I’ve come to expect from this brand. Love their products. I do wish it had a mesh side pocket for easy access to a water bottle. Two separate compartments for your items, see pics. Also I removed one star because I found the image online a bit different than what I received. I was expecting a softer more muted sea foam blue/green color but it’s so bright it’s looks neon. Kept it anyway but like the deep purple color better. You won’t be disappointed!

Lightweight and small but holds a lot
Great little bag. Pros: small, has 2 deep pockets, one with pockets. It's versatile, as I can wear it over my shoulder, in the front, and on my back. I prefer over my back and pushing it to the front when I need my wallet. Even though the zippers aren't just to one side, it is still easy to enter the bag and get the quick things I need, like my wallet, without having to take it off. It can hold a surprising amount of stuff: wallet, shopping bags, hiking first aid kit, 16 oz water bottle, emergency items (swiss army knife, whistles, fire starter, etc), my large stash of keys, my galaxy 23 ultra phone, small snacks, my kindle and Kobo libra 2, doggy bags, medication, gum, flashlight, and other assorted things. Even though it is loaded, it doesn't feel heavy when wearing it at all. I am very happy with this purchase. CONS: these are my own preference, not the fault of the bag as I saw what it was in the photos, so I didn't ding stars for it. The main strap, while comfortable, is a little thick and I wish it was a little thinner and smaller and extended a little further. I wish there was an additional small pocket in the front that wasn't so deep, to put small things that I need more frequently like my gum or medication. And maybe an easy way to hang or secure a small lightweight jacket. Other than this, the bag is perfect in every way and I am very pleased with this purchase.

Excellent Pack
I have a G4Free sling and I love it, but it's too small to hold my 10.4" tablet. Thus, I decided to try the Osprey. It's a very high quality sling bag. It has plenty of space for my needs. The material is much thicker and tougher than the G4Free. The G4Free on the other hand has an outside mesh pocket, which I miss on the Osprey. However, the front pocket works just fine for a small water bottle. The Daylite is very high quality and appears that it will hold up for the long haul. It's very comfy and has some padding on the inside. It's very water resistant and you won't have to worry about getting you gear wet in rain. I'd be cautious in a downpour, however. This pack isn't designed to carry a tablet, but for my needs when I occasionally carry my tablet it works great. It fits with the case on too. This essentially acts as my daily use and dad bag (kid supplies - snacks, hand wipes, etc.). It's a great little bag and I highly recommend it.

NICE EDC BAG FOR YOUR "STUFF"
Let me start with a disclaimer. I might be an osprey fanboy. This is my fourth osprey bag and they are ALL excellent. They have superb quality, comfortability and functionality. I have the Archeon 25 Rolltop, The Daylite, The Transporter Rolltop and now this sling. I love how lightweight the bag is. If it's not packed heavy, you could probably forget you are carrying it. I read reviews of people having concerns about the plastic connector which seems like it could be a point of failure. Because of my experience with several other Osprey products, I don't have that concern. It's very comparable to a Patagonia Atom sling that I had, but gifted to a family member. This just seems to fit a bit more comfortable for me, although the pocket on the Patagonia arm had more utility. This is quality. My only complaint is that the damn thing went on sale maybe 2 days after I purchased it at full price. I almost returned and reordered at the cheaper price, but I threw away all packaging because I knew from the start I was keeping it. If you like what you see, get it. It'll serve it's purpose.

Osprey Quality Build!
Perfect size sling for a quick, out the door go bag. Also, I use mine for bike rides, keeping a spare tube, tools and a tire inflator inside. Cell phone, wallet and any other items to keep out your pockets. Much better than a backpack that restricts air flow and cause, a sweaty back when you ride. Two features I did not find in other reviews where a chest strap quick release buckle (#5) and an excess strap keeper (#4)... both hidden from view. It took a couple of hours of swearing about NO strap keeper before I found it tucked up in the upper connection point. Well placed internal pockets and quality zippers found on all of Osprey"s packs! Could have used a vertical zippered pocket so when you bring the sling around for a quick item grab, you wouldn't be trying to keep the items from falling out of the other horizontal pockets that have now become vertical. Also lacks an external fleece lined pocket for sun/prescription glasses found on some other packs. The elastic pouch on the chest strap is kind of useless due to its size. Too small for glasses. Think chapstick or small sunscreen. I referenced a Mac Book Air for size, NO way would it fit. iPad or tab...??? Maybe. Overall I am pleased with the Osprey Daylite sling and would recommend to others looking for this size of pack.
