Big, bold, bright tachometer - works fine in 4cyl Subaru Sambar
As the headline says, this kit was successfully installed in a 1996 Subaru Sambar kei truck. I drilled the dash for the included rubber grommet and mounted it on top of the dash using rivets vs. the included screws. Wires were /just/ long enough to reach appropriate areas for wiring in using tap connectors. See installation videos on YT from Mr. Subaru and OhKei Garage for details. Incandescent lamp in unit gives warm glow to the dial. Adjustable redline setting tab moves readily and stays put. I've put a couple hundred km on the vehicle after installation, and readings are repeatable and consistent. Thumbs up!

Easy instillation, seems to be accurate and works great
Installed on my 1963 bel air with a 283. Very easy to wire and adjust. The mounting bolt needs to be torqued down, i replaced the nut with a nylon nut and had no issue. Looks great and is a very fair price! Will be buying another for my Studebaker

Not exactly the quality I was expecting, but it does work well.
I needed a fairly accurate tachometer for my 1956 Willys CJ5. The old F 134 Hurricane engine doesn't like to spin much faster than 4000 RPM. I have been using Auto Meter professional gauges in my race cars nearly as long as they have been around. It works perfectly and is a simple install. The only thing I didn't like is the material the housing is made from is plastic and feels cheap. I mounted the tach under my dash so I didn't have to drill holes in the dash face. I have to constantly readjust the position because I am afraid I will break the mount if I tighten it up much more. I do realize that the Autogage line is somewhat of a budget line, and should have expected something like this. However, in spite of this one thing, the tach works perfectly, so over all, I am happy with it. It does what it is supposed to do, and I double checked it's accuracy against my digital tach for accuracy and it is accurate.

Great Tachometer for the price
This is a great tachometer, easy to install, works well, and is at a great price point! The bulb is also easy to put a green cover over or replace with a green one for a look to match if you have an old school green gauge cluster like my1988 Dodge Ram 50. I’d highly recommend! My only con would be it rests on 1000 rpm with no power, once you turn the key to battery it goes to 0 and when you start it works flawless, but when you turn it off it moves back to 1000 rpm. Just a minor thing since it doesn’t matter when it’s off, but something to note if you have OCD.

Looks and works great
Autometer is the standard in auto gauges. This is no exception. The look is great and the install was easy. The feel is a little light, since its primarily plastic, but it is not a wear item, so I don't see it being an issue long term. I would definitely recommend if you are wanting a lower cost, blacked out tach.

I couldn't be more pleased
Very nice tachometer for my 04 Honda Civic VP (with no factory tach). It fit perfectly in the left corner of my instrument cluster and mounted to the fascia in front of the factory gauges. It's just the right size, and with the change of the replaceable illumination bulb to a red LED, it matches the factory lighting perfectly. I can still see the engine temp and fuel gauge without any problem. Its position is completely adjustable, and looks professionally done, plus the black tach body also matches the fascia surface material as if it were designed for this car. All of the electrical connections were easily made right into the factory harness that connects to the instrument cluster. No hunting all over the vehicle for the tach signal. It's right there. I did however, run a fuse tap for the red wire (hot with ignition switch on) from the interior fuse panel, but it's only a few inches below the cluster anyway. I couldn't be happier with how smoothly the installation went, nor how good this gauge looks and functions. I did have to reposition the dip switches to the 4cyl mode. No more guessing what the engine is doing. I love it!
