Sorry to ask this as it's not very pleasant. My cat has long fur, so feces sometimes get stuck around his rear. Can this be used for this problem?

Know this is an old question but for anyone who sees this and has the same issue: I had a Persian/Himalayan mix who was absolutely beautiful but had the same issue with feces getting caught in the fur under her tail and being drug out of the litter box inadvertently. Sorry, but my solution was to take her to a good groomer and get a 'lion cut' and to request to make sure the hair around her behind and the top of the tail was cut very short. Problem solved, sorry but litter needs to stay in the box! Loved that cat so much... cried like a baby when she passed; that was one gorgeous animal. Btw, she loved going to the groomers, they always said she purred the entire time she was at her 'spa'. ;)

People seem to like the fragrance of this, but I have a long-haired, oily cat. Does this remove the oiliness and make his fur FEEL cleaner?

I used it on my long fur cat. He kept licking it off so I could not tell if it helped with oiliness or not. I did notice that he was itching worse after using it. I don't recommend buying it.

Question 3

are they good for cleaning a very dirty cat as a substitute of bathing? or is it just to eliminate odor and make the fur soft and shiny?

If the cat is very dirty, I would think the cat would need a bath and you may want to get a cat shampoo that will rinse easily.  This is better for light touch ups and eliminating odor. It is effective at eliminating odors.
