I like it, but could still be a little better
I like this concept. It seems like this will be a good way to keep the delicate microHDMI port less likely to get damaged from a cable being pulled sideways while in the camera. I wish the cable was either a little more flexible or slightly longer. The only mounting position option is right next to the port since the cable is too short to allow this to mount to the top of the cage. Would have maybe been nice to also have to other mounting holes so that you could orient this 90 degrees in the opposite direction to change the direction of the input. But since this is the only product that I have seen like this, it will stay a 5 start item. It could be improved though.

Helps to protect miro HDMI port
Purchased this to keep the Miro HDMI cable from having to be connected and disconnected repeatedly and getting damaged. Added a clamp as well so it will not get jiggled at the port. The first one I got stopped working. Smallrig replaced it at no cost right away. Have no more problem.

Want It Reversed
This is a great product and works as intended. It's perfect if you have a monitor on top of the camera as the HDMI post faces up. If you don't have a monitor on top like my situation, I want the screws on the opposite side of the HDMI bracket so the HDMI cable hangs down.. not up. With this bracket as is, it can only be attached to the camera cage with the HDMI facing up, because the access door on the camera to get to the micro HDMI port is in the way. Just like 90 degree adapter cables that are available in right or left angles, this bracket needs to be available with the female HDMI port facing up or down.

100% satisfecho!

Handy Little Item
This one is a no brainer. If you're camera has a micro hdmi, you're using a cage, and you use an external monitor, you should already have this. It screws right onto your cage to give you a full sized hdmi connection. Not only can you use a full sized hdmi cable, you'll never have to worry about damaging your camera. If a cable gets tugged accidentally, all the strain goes into this inexpensive part instead of into your expensive camera. If for nothing other than 'peace of mind' it's well worth the expense. I shoot some 'how to' videos so I'm constantly moving my camera around. This gadget just makes my work flow so much easier.

Works but fragile
Mini-HDMI ports are known to be fragile. The design of this item is a good idea: in conjunction with a mini-HDMI clamp, it provides a locked-down separation of the mini-HDMI cord, to eliminate any pulling on the port should the primary HDMI be tugged. The issue is that its cable is actually quite fragile, and for me it protrudes a bit from the camera. So you need to be careful to avoid touching it much, both to not pull on the port, but also to not damage the cable itself. This is even more of an issue if you shoot in portrait and like to hold the camera with the cable-side down. This is my second unit, as my first began to fail intermittently after a few months of ownership and actually not too much usage. I will be much more careful with this copy, and hopefully it lasts longer. Regardless, I think it's better insurance to have, than to not have; and even with replacement, cheaper than sending the camera in for a port repair. It sounds like for some people with large rigs the cable is too short, but in my case it's a bit overlong. They should probably release more lengths, and perhaps with angled connectors.

When I use my camera (a Lumix GH7) for video, I always use a powerbank to make sure the battery lasts through an interview. I plug the powerbank into the USB-C port directly, but with this I can have a dedicated port on the side of my cage which is much easier to swap devices in/out. If I used an SSD to record to (I don't but I am considering it) then this would also make life a bit easier, I have messing around with the port holes on the camera as I find them a bit fiddle when the cage is one and the camera is set up on a tripod as I have to adjust hte position to access them properly. But with this adapter/extender I can easily plug in my powerbank, and it also feel like the port is better protected, if the powerbank were to be knocked then the cable would stain on this port rather than the actual camera port. if you are swapping out SSDs then this would be really useful, but for me with an external SSD, this provides a slightly simpler solution - and anything that makes life a bit easier is a win in my opinion. The cable screws to the cage, and the plate with the screws sits quite low so there's no huge 'step' on your rig. As with everything I've ever had from Smallrig, this is well engineered and will last for years.
