Lovely book about creativity
It's a small book, which makes it easy to carry along and read when you get the chance. It can be read in small pieces and as you want it. It can be read in any order and gives you some different ways of being creative. I'm enjoying it quite a lot.

Outstanding book about the "why" behind the human drive to create.
There's lots of "5 Steps To Becoming More Creative" or "creativity hacks" type books out there, but as far as I am aware there's a scant few books out there in the same league as "The Meaning in the Making" by Sean Tucker.I've seen some compare Tucker's book to Steven Pressfield's "The War of Art," to which I would posit that with all due respect to Mr Pressfield and his book (which I also enjoy), "The Meaning in the Making" is on a whole different level.Tucker's encouraging and skillful communication doesn't leave the reader with vagaries or incomplete ideas, and the book reads more like a letter from a close friend or trusted mentor and not a total stranger.Regardless of whether you're a novice creator looking for someplace to start or an experienced writer, photographer, painter, or are working in any type of creative field, Tucker has something to offer you. This book completely disrupted the schedule of books I had originally planned on reading this year, and in a very good way. Once I completed the first read through I tried to set it aside and move on to another book, but as I began writing and structuring outlines and scripts for future YouTube videos and planning future shoots Tucker's advice echoed in my mind as I found his concepts applicable in almost every facet of my creative life.I'm on my third reading of this book since I purchased it, and I can't get enough of it.

A worthwhile book
This book is loaded with important and interesting ideas applicable to almost everyone not only to artists and makers of things. There's a lot to take in, so it will be very helpful as a text to go back to from time to time. I recommend this book if you are interested in the many facets of our being that drive us to be creative and also those facets that get in the way of our finding our own path and achieving what we want to achieve.Sean Tucker is a deeply thoughtful and resourceful man with a drive to teach and help others by sharing what he believes are crucial ideas that he has learned along the way. He writes about being vulnerable, about accepting yourself as you are and not letting yourself get in the way of yourself. He uses his own experiences and failures as examples to illustrate the psychological and philosophical points he strives to make.I've followed Sean Tucker as he developed his successful Youtube channel with beautiful and meaningful content. He's a very good photographer and an even better film maker. I've learned from him and I think you will too.

A very helpful reading from an honest self-reflection
As a successful photographer and YouTuber, the author presents a well written account of his self discoveries using his own experience as a self-taught artist. What makes this book particularly interesting is that it expands the ideas developed from self-reflection to made them applicable to any other ways of life. The only reason I don’t give the book 5 stars is that I find the narrative a bit too self-centered for my taste.

Excellent exploration of an artist's mind.
If you have ever watched Sean Tucker's videos, you already know that his approach to making art is grounded in honesty, self-exploration, and generosity. This book is a further plunge into those ideals and more. It is an expertly written guide to navigating an artist's fears, ego, and process. A road map towards a better understanding of what's going on "under the hood" of creativity, along with tools that can help anyone navigate the road - if they are willing to put in the work.Stephen King's "On Writing" is one of my favorite books on craft precisely because it is more than a technical guide - it's an honest look at King's life and motivations as they fed (or starved) his work. While Sean is still in the "early" stages of his artistic career compared to King, he has been creative his entire life and is able to walk the reader through the lessons he's learned with humility and wisdom. I relate deeply to his approach and found this book to be both a comfort and a proper kick in the pants to do some self-exploration of my own. Will this book teach you how to take a better photo, leap higher in ballet, or develop immaculate color theory? No. There are no false promises in here and no cookie-cutter bits of advice on technique. The book lives up to its title - Sean is looking for the Meaning in the Making, and if you want to better understand yourself as an artist and therefore elevate your work, I highly suggest that you give this book a chance. It will pay dividends.

Came for the photography, stayed for the philosophy.
This book is unlike any other photography book I’ve read in over 40 years of doing so. What I found here wasn’t about how to photograph, or when, or where, or what with. It was about why. I had never really thought about why, focusing my attention on the other four more physical aspects instead. I cannot recommend this book highly enough to do it justice. I’ll simply say this - buy the book. Read it. If you think it isn’t going to benefit you, stay with it anyway. It will. I promise. It may or may not improve you photography, that’s up to you. But it may certainly improve your life, your thinking, and how you engage your world. Read it if you’re young or old, new to your craft or experienced, whether you write, make pottery, paint, or create films. Whatever you choose to create, let this book grow your mind and expand your consciousness. Simply outstanding work by Sean Tucker, and something he will long be remembered for.

Excellent book
Why did I wait so long to purchase this book? The author writes exactly like he speaks in his videos, and has wonderful insight into the psychology behind why we make things, and how those things and the process of making them influence us and others.

Great Book
The Meaning in the Making by Sean Tucker is an incredibly thought-provoking and insightful book. Tucker expertly explores the concept of meaning and how it shapes our lives. He delves into the different ways we create meaning in our lives, from religion to art, and how these meanings can change over time. The book is well-written and easy to understand, making it accessible to a wide range of readers.I found the author's perspectives on the role of art and creativity in the human experience particularly engaging. He proposes that art is not only an expression of meaning but also a means of creating it. The book encourages the readers to be more mindful of the meanings they create and how they shape their lives.Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to gain a deeper understanding of the role of meaning in our lives and the different ways we create it. It is an excellent read for anyone interested in philosophy, psychology, and art.

Fantastic and insightful read
When I was coming to Europe from Ecuador, two months ago, I knew I’ll finally be able to get my hands on this book.I’ve been following Sean’s work for a while over YouTube, and I’ve always been mesmerized by the way he’s able to share a story or a concept in the most humble and comforting tone. (You should go and watch some episodes, and you’ll see)This book is that and a bit more. I loved to read about creativity from his perspective, the human and psychological treats, and I found myself nodding and smiling over and over again, while reading it, as I recognized so many parallels to my own creative path, and even life.I strongly recommend this book to anyone who cares, not only about creativity, but to build more meaningful and enjoyable path into any art form.
