Kanguru Solutions 32 GB SS3 Flash Drive USB 3.0 with Write-Protect (KF3WP-32G)

Its annoying when people don't understand what they are buying and give bad reviews on a device that is actually brilliant. This flash drive is literally the one of only a few on the market that actually support physical write-protection that windows CANNOT bypass. You might not believe me but most other flash devices, sd cards that have write-protection are not physical but actually software driven when they read that little side switch on the device. On the inferior devices, windows or a virus can bypass the lock on those drives - believe it or not. However this is not possible on the Kanguru - its impossible. This is the only device you can safely plug into another computer and not worry about an infection or loss of data. Its also the best device to create a multi-boot virus busting drive that will be safe to use again. For me it has been reliable and well built with no problems so far. Highly recommend!

Il mio acquisto è stato molto travagliato per tantissimi motivi. Il primo motivo è che il pacco giacente presso l'ufficio postale era stato aperto e richiuso con dello scotch, la confezione interna era stata forzata, la pennina mostrava uno spazio disponibile di 24 GB contro i 28 GB che avrebbe dovuto avere, la pennina si bloccava in continuazione. Secondo motivo, la pennina sostitutiva mi è arrivata pochi minuti fa e anche stavolta il pacco era stato aperto e richiuso con una grossa etichetta bianca proprio sul lato dell'apertura, però questa volta vedo per intero i 28 GB invece di 24 GB come quella di prima. Il terzo motivo di scontento è che la pennina è velocissima con i grossi file, da 500 MB in su mentre è lentissima con file di 200 KB. Infatti scrive fino a 70 MB/s con grossi file mentre con file di 200 KB non va oltre i 70/100 KB/S... orrenda!!! L'unica cosa per cui l'ho comprata è lo switch (la protezione hardware da scrittura) che funziona benissimo! I virus non attecchiscono! Rimpiango la mia waitek da 2gb acquistata nel 2007 che ha lo switch di protezione da scrittura ma è USB 2.0 e non ha mai perso un colpo! Mi aspettavo il salto di qualità con questa pennina da 32 GB USB 3.0 invece è stata una delusione totale! Costa un botto e offre prestazioni ridicole, era formattata in FAT32 con cluster di 64kb ma poiché come sapete il FAT32 aggiunge 2 secondi di differenza ai file copiati, ho dovuto riformattarla in NTFS con cluster di 64Kb, mi interessava mantenere inalterate le date dei file. Perché i pacchi arrivano aperti e richiusi? Forse il corriere di poste italiane non è poi così tanto affidabile o c'è qualcos'altro sotto? Rimarrà un vero mistero almeno per me! Questa è la mia esperienza che come potete leggere è davvero travagliata... edit del 9 gennaio 2020: acquistate altre 2 identiche pennine. Tutto perfetto stavolta.

J'aurais préféré une clé de 64Gb avec le switch write-protect au lieu des 32 GB de celle actuelle. Sinon le produit est parfait

This is an eventual replacement for one I bought a long time ago, and still using very frequently. I had an odd error when using my old one recently, using a client’s Windows PC, that wasn’t properly detecting the change from write-protected to read/write allowed (even after safe eject, removal, and reinserted). It’s been working fine for several weeks since. However, based on its age and how often I depend on it, I went ahead and purchased a 2nd one. In case you’re comparing, I prefer this product line over the blue ones from Kangaru, as the blue ones don’t offer much more and potentially have slower write speeds. And I never use built-in encryption for devices like this.

Stupidly expensive but when, for a living, your are going to be connecting your important USB stick to potentially infected PCs, you simply must have the peace-of-mind of a write-disabled stick. And I say this from bitter experience!
