Does this work seamlessly with Etsy without the need to capture?

Yes it does, if you open the labels from etsy in the correct format (Etsy has this option when purchasing labels, choose 4 x 6) you can then print those labels with this label printer. Also works with amazon, and any other website with a 6 x 4 label option. However, the original labels for this printer are expensive compared to the industry standard, I recommend the Arkscan 2054A if you want inexpensive labels. (Currently, the cheapest Third-Party labels for the brother are enKo labels, but they aren't the right size and don't work correctly, so the original DK Brother labels are about 12 cents per label. The generic labels for the Arkscan are the same as for zebra and other printers, at around 2 cents per label.)

Is this printer compatible with Chrome OS??

Here's a workaround that I had easy success with. The brother ql-1100 can be configured as a "Zebra ZPL Label" and will save as QL-1100. To do so, first plug in the printer, via USB to the Chromebook. Go to your chromebook settings, accessible by clicking in the bottom right corner of the screen where the time is displayed. A tab will pop up with some options. Find and click the gear looking icon, this is the settings menu. In the settings, on the left side find and click "advanced", then click "printing". The page to manage printers will open. It should show a line with your Brother printer and a button that says "set up", click this and add the printer as: Manufacturer: Zebra Model: Zebra ZPL Label click ADD A message will show up saying it added your Brother QL-1100 When printing, if you need the 4x6 labels as I use, you will need to change the print page size to index-4x6 (Postcard) You can now print with the Brother QL-1100 on the Chrome OS

Can you print other labels not for shipping in smaller label? Like 2x2 label with Ingredients and Allergens for a food package?

Sure can. Buy the continuous labels, and then cut them to the size you want. I label my herb jars, salves, tins, etc. My only complaint is that their margins are too big, so with the circle labels, you have a lot of wasted space. I print larger circles on the packing label size, and use a whole punch to punch them out. Works perfectly for my needs. hth

does the printer come with the paper roll or needs to bought separately?

The QL-1100 does come with the following rolls: Starter rolls: DK-1247 Die-cut Large Shipping Labels (41 labels), plus DK-2205 2.4" (62mm) Continuous Length Black on White Paper Tape 26.2 ft. (8m)
