Analytical Mechanics: An Introduction (Oxford Graduate Texts)

This is a very fine text covering a difficult subject. I just wish that the book itself had the pages sewn in rather than adhered to some kind of plastic.

I had Professor Fasano as lecturer in Florence. He is absolutely clear and pedagogical. This book covers even complicated topics with basic mathematical tools. Exercises are curious like the many examples which are in details solved in the book (see in particular the chapter on dynamical systems). Definitely one of my favorite books.

This book covers a a lot of material with clear definitions, important theorems, interesting examples, mathematical proofs with all details. All you would like to know on basic Classical Mechanics, A very good taste in choosing topics for the text.

Es un texto orientado para graduados, para los que ya tienen cursos de física sobre mecánica. No es un texto básico, sino para un curso superior. Es profundo y toca muchísimos temas. No incluye relatividad. Usa mucho lenguaje matricial y vectorial. Repito, es un texto para ya iniciados en la mecánica, no para estudiantes de primer curso de física.
