Equity: How to Design Organizations Where Everyone Thrives

Mina Bopaiah does a phenomenal job elaborating on IDEA concepts and how to implement them. She not only discuses industry DEI concepts, but she also connects them to other subjects in a way that is understandable. She courageously unveils troubling practices and concisely brings everything together in such a short read. I highly recommend this book to people staring their equity journey as well as more experienced individuals who may need a quick reminder or validation of their work as it often leads to burnout. Bravo!

The book made some great points and helped in many ways to practically address issues that many companies are facing. I enjoyed the ability to bring solutions and new ideas to how to deal with DEI challenges, and give potential direction as we continue to build stringer teams and companies.

I read this book by Minal Bopaiah several months ago and found it to be tremendously impactful. She found a way of looking at Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in a fresh, frank and interesting way; I couldn't wait to read the next page. Though it is easy to speak about these issues in simplistic terms, she does not do so; with honest, everyday examples she is able to convey such important, old but fresh concepts. It's a lovely and thoughtful book; just writing this review reminds me to read it again! I would highly recommend it to anyone with an open heart and mind who wants to stretch and to live honestly and fairly.

This is an outstanding book for anyone who is interested in diversity, equity and inclusion as a way of improving business functions and understanding the necessity of equity in that process. In this time of devisiveness and misunderstanding of the value of diversity, equity and inclusion, EQUITY provides the clarity necessary to operationalize the necessity of diversity, equity, and inclusion and appreciate that DEI is for everyone's benefit--Individuals, Businesses, and Institutions.

Minal Bopaiah’s text is an excellent addition to any JEDIA bookshelf, from the expert practitioner to the person encountering these ideas for the first time. Coming from a Human-Centered Design Thinking approach in conjunction with leadership principles that center equity first, Bopaiah’s text uses anecdotes and facts to provide a necessary and timely introduction to building equity into an organization/system rather than using top-down decision-making that often leaves more problems than it solves. In only 176 pages, the text promotes a thoughtfully articulate view regarding equity as a space and place people can occupy within not just organizations but the world at large if we work hard enough to make it happen. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick but insightful read.
