Best Pet Dematting Comb Tool Great to Brush Medium and Long Hair Dogs and Cats

Newfoundlands have a soft fuzzy undercoat that loves burdocks and any other weed, seed or natural plant life that adheres. Living on a farm, it's impossible to mow it all down before it becomes a problem let alone seek it out. So we deal with it almost daily. This new comb is the only tool I have ever used that removes burdock, tangles, matted hair (like that stuff behind the ears) and winter coat, not only easily, but actually removes it!!! No batteries, no noise, nothing to bend or break off. No cutting off hair in chunks! Strong and durable! We have had only long-haired dogs over 42 years and wasted so much money on worthless combs and brushes. This is definitely the last dog comb we wil ever buy! I'm thinking of buying another one in case they get hard to find, although I can't imagine it ever wearing out. Also, having the choice of a fine and wide teeth is great. Fine for the daily combing and wide for the nasty issues. You will be more than pleased with this tool!

I have a twenty year old cat and she seems to have lost interest in grooming. She had mats of fur from her head to tail and because of her age, and the fact that she weighs about three pounds, using her old brush and comb were too much for her. This thing is amazing. First of all, she liked it, she let me brush her again! In ten minutes she was her old beautiful self. Took all the knots out with ease and didn't hurt her one bit. Now I use it regularly and she looks like her old self again. Love this brush, better than any I've tried over the years. I also have a big, wire-haired mutt who loves this thing too. Ran through his coat with no problem, took out tons of fur and left him, and me, a happy dog. Best dematting brush on the market.

Our cat, "Buddy", had two very troublesome mats that were unresolved by regular brushing. After some research into potential solutions, I purchased this tool. This dematting tool is extremely well made and engineered. A similar but a smaller one-sided version at a national pet store, Petsmart, was priced at $51.99. I was unsure whether Buddy would allow me to use this on him or that it would irritate or hurt him. Not only did Buddy allowed me to use this by using his regular brush and this tool alternatively, after a lengthy patient brushing, this tool resolved his matted back. It has now become an at least nightly routine where he comes up on the couch to be brushed with this tool. He now prefers this tool to his regular nylon brush. I am very pleased that I bought this tool. Buddy loves it!

It is really handy to have both sides available for how close you would like the claws on the tool. I have a Maine Coon cat , he is super hairy and sheds like nobody's business. I use the wide side and gently stroke his fur. Only con from this tool : tends to collect static as I pass it on the fur.

Wow!!! I have tried many different combs for my cats, with little to moderate success. This comb is Amazing, because my cat LOVED it. She tolerated being combed in the past. This comb she couldn't get enough of. We had a pile of fur, that actually stunned me, because if she'd had to lick off or shed that amount of fur we'd both be unhappy. She is extra silky after just 1 combing session. Very easy to use and cleaning is simple. I also like it isn't sharp. I highly recommend this Pro De-Matting Comb. I have an update to this review. My cat is extra fluffy and leaves fur on the sofa even when combed often. I now used this as a tool too EASILY Pick up the fur off my sofa. It works Better than Any other of the tools I've used before. I highly recommend this tool.

The comb works okay and does what it was designed to do, but I did have to take it apart and sharpen all the blades. Maybe I just have a hyper-sensitive dog, but the cutting blades would not separate the knots and cut the hair mats as it came out of the package. Once they were sharpened, it worked great. For any one who contemplates this, the blades are directional and you have to match up the single blades to the doubles, so they're even all the way along. Also, if you take it apart without looking at it first, there are two washers to start and two washers finish ... there should be no extra pieces when you're done.

I have huge Maine Coon that HATES being brushed. He sheds all over and runs from brushes and combs. While my cat still hates this dematting brush, the struggles are significantly less. This dematting comb removed the knots easily as well as the excess hair so there is MUCH less shedding. I have been using this every other day, and what a difference! For the price, it is worth it. It appears to be sturdy and I expect this will last. It is safe with no immediate sharp edges, so I don't feel at risk of cutting myself or my cat. This is a solid purchase. Highly recommend!

Excellent product. I have a 3lb yorkie and he's a boys boy and his hair constantly mats up like I don't brush him. I literally brushed him right before we went to the vet and the first thing she recommended was I start brushing him. So I looked for products that would detangle him and they were expensive. I tried shampoos and conditioners and they made him smell nice and made his coat soft but nothing would get to his undercoat and remove the tangles. So I saw this product and I took a chance and it was so worth it. Now my baby doesn't like to be brushed he rather play but I got a ton of hair off him in areas I thought weren't that bad. In the bad areas it was a lil more challenging not because of the product but because my puppy didnt want to cooperate when I got to his stomach area, legs and bottom. With all that said I think this works great. I can see where it would clean up a bigger dog like a dream. My lil guy will just have to get used to it
