Letters to Me, When I Grow Up: Write Now. Read Later. Treasure Forever.

The media could not be loaded. This is such a great activity to do with older kids, say 5 and up. Unfortunately, upon unboxing, the insides were almost entirely detached from the binding and outside covers. It was going to be a birthday present, but will be returning. I still gave 5 stars, as it is such a great idea and activity to do with the kids in your life.

I bought this book for my son for his 9th birthday. He loves to write, but is sometimes stumped when it comes to picking a subject to write about. This book solves that problem by offering writing prompts - What would you do as world leader? What kinds of things do you and your friends like to do? Not all the pages involve paragraph writing, on one you simply draw a diagram of your bedroom, and others are presented in a fill-in-the blank format.The designs are colorful, but not childish, and the paper feels thick and heavy duty. The book comes with stickers so you can seal up each page once you're finished.I really love the sweetness of this book, and I'm looking forward to opening up the letters with my son in 10 or 20 years so we can revisit the 9-year old him.

I feel journaling has such a powerful impact on ones’ life - that I have my child doing it too. In the tech world we live in, it is hard for me to get her to sit down and write. I saw these on Black Friday and thought they were such a cute idea.I purchased one for my nephew too. They are regular sized envelopes; each one has a different design and topic. I like when they ask a question because I find it’s easier for most kids to answer (rather than have to write what’s on their minds).

This is awesome and I would highly recommend it to anyone with kids. I bought this as a Christmas present for my 7 year old daughter, and after looking through it I decided to purchase more for my nieces and nephews. Each letter has a different theme along with writing prompts to help steer little ones in the right direction and keep them on track. There are 12 letters to fill out (I’ve included pictures of them all). The last page has 12 stickers to seal the letters until they are opened in the future.The only reason I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5, is because the cover was broken. Where the front cover attaches to the letters, the seal had come undone. There was glue on it so it was sealed at some point, just not when I received it. I was able to fix it with a hot glue gun and it looks good as new. If you’re giving this as a gift, I recommend taking it out of the bag to check it out.I’ve ordered other themes from the ‘Letters To My’ series in the past and have had the same problem with a few of them. I’d say I’ve bought 10 others, and 2-3 have had this issue. Each time it was simply fixed with a hot glue gun, so I haven’t been dissuaded from purchasing more. I think these letter books/journals are a great idea and love that there are a multitude of themes. My favorites have been the ones I filled out and gave to my Mom and Dad. They ended up being special gifts full of cherished memories.12/4/2019 Update:I ordered three more of these books to give as Christmas presents. All three had binding that was unattached on the front cover, and 1 was completely out of the binding. I have added a picture of the books as I received them. You should absolutely plan on receiving yours in the same condition. They will need fixed prior to using or giving as a gift. Like I previously said, it’s an easy fix with hot glue. Definitely annoying though. This clearly isn’t a random issue and should be addressed by the manufacturer. I understand they are cheap ($5 when I purchased) but that’s no excuse for selling books that aren’t even attached to their cover. I would still recommend them (as long as you have a hot glue gun). After attaching the cover you cannot tell there was ever a problem, and for the price I think it’s a nice small gift that kids will have fun with.

I purchased four of these and gave them to my nieces for Christmas. They weren't as excited about the concept as their parents and I, but I still think they were great gifts. Someday they will understand how precious their memories are and how much the details of our every day life fade away as we grow up. I love that the letters fold into themselves to make envelopes and long term storage will be simple.

This is a really cool little book. Although I think Might need to be supervised to be used in the right way…. But it’s so cool!!

UPDATE: My granddaughter filled the letters out and has brought it back to me. I haven't (and won't) read them - they will be for her to share in 10 years! :) So glad how she responded to this! May get her another one every couple years.Purchased this for my 8 year old granddaughter. She LOVED it! She began reading the letters and immediately chose one to begin filling it out. I have asked her to finish the letters and return the book to me. On her high school graduation (or maybe college) I plan to give her the book back. It will be fun for her to see how her dreams have changed - or if they've all come true?!

Such a cute and great idea. Although the binding broke as soon as we opened to about 4th page. Came unglued from the insert cards. Disappointing.

Got this for my 8 year old daughter who I hope will treasure it and appreciate her efforts in years to come! Such a great idea.
