Great drawer system for keeping things safe when the top is off

Needs more secure latch
Other than the weak latch, the safe is built pretty good for the price. If I really tried I could defeat the latch by pulling the whole drawer out.

Easy enough
I use mine for '2nd amendment' storage. It wasn't easy to figure out what do with the airbag wiring etc, but I cut the mounts loose, and got that up and out of the way, then the drawer went in easily. BTW you CANNOT drive with the drawer unlocked - found that out at the 2nd stoplight ; ). A great way to keep things secure in a topless Jeep

Poor Design
I just got this in today and I was quite disappointed in the design. One of the features that drew me to this brand was the knob that came with it. I didn't want to have to use the key to pull the drawer out...... however, the other shortcomings in the design , I see now, out weigh's the desire for the drawer knob. The positives...1) There is a knob to relieve and stress from opening the drawer.2)The gauge steel seems acceptable. You always want thicker, but for the price, I think it is pretty sturdy... and being under the seat, aids in the ability to access. The negatives... (not necessarily in any particular order of importance)1) Would have been nice to have some lining, but easy enough for me to find something.2) While the steel gauge seems adequate, I don't like that the top is a riveted plate for a couple reasons: a) the joint is riveted and not welded so it can be pried and broken open. b) Because the joint is on top, there is clear access to a screw driver pr pry bar the can be driven from the side of the seat to break the rivets thereby giving access to the items inside. It seems other products don't appear to have a riveted top.... or even they were riveted, but we folder underneath to meat in the center bottom, all edges are smooth and cannot be split.3) There is no rear mounting "platform" so when laid across for mounting, the rear sags causing the from to lift unevenly.4) Appears that installation of front brackets are intended to sit on top of seat bolts. I think, like other designs, it's much better to sit under the seat bolts/bracket to make it harder to pry on.Looks like this is going back and I'll have to go with the others with better design (and same price), and I'll just add my own pull knob for the drawer.
