Pelican 1495 Laptop Case (Black)

I looked for a few years for a nice briefcase, resolved not to spend $500 for a designer case nor $50 for one from Staples that I knew would get scratched and chewed up in time. I knew I wanted one wide enough and something that would keep everything in place, perhaps even work out of and place on the desk in the passenger seat. This case is awesome, to be sure. The bottom foam layer not only holds the laptop, but keep in mind that the foam is deep enough that folders, pads or brochures can lay underneath or on top, almost an inch of them, that helps. I could envision a more briefcase like bottom, with compartments like the top to hold more things, but it's packed with the easy to pluck or cut foam to keep your expensive Alienware laptop safe. I love the way it closes, combo lock, the latches are designed so well; every time you close it you just know. The handle is nice and ergonomic, with rubber coating; it's heavy, of course, but my other bags were almost 1/2 or 3/4 as much. Since space is at a premium, I think more carefully about what is in it, so no old papers or outdated files cluttering up the space like my old bags. Now when I travel I have everything there, right where I can see it. Be careful when you install the shoulder strap, I had the snap swivels turned inward and they scratched the sides for the first few days. For more room for equipment try the next size up, but this is a very nice, attention getting case that I'll hand down to my son. It would also look very cool all beat up and covered with stickers! For fun, the next time I fly I'm going to get a pair of handcuffs and attach it to my wrist and wear a suit!!!

It's a nice bit of money to pay for a case - but when you have it in your hands any doubts will fade away. My main concern upon buying it was the latches/hinges might be too flimsy for my liking, but everything about this case is very robust. I'm quite pleased. I will put it through its paces but I'm confident that this will last forever and will protect its contents from just about anything.

Sin duda algo que vale la pena tener, los equipos adentro se quedan bastante seguros. Lo utilice para una lap top con pantalla 15.6 y me quedo espacio suficiente y exacto para mouse, cargador y memorias usb o hasta un disco duro

So happy with this case. Super stiff and hard. Great job at protecting the contents. The foam is great too. Getting the fitment accurate is simple and only takes a few minutes. It already took a tumble down some cement stairs. Can't find a mark and the contents did not notice a thing. Thank you Pelican!
