The book is helpful as there is very little study mateiral for PTE. I would suggest to visit definitly take the pte paid practice test.I think you can download this book online as well I am not sure though. Keep in mind shipping took more than a week.

I had problems with shipping it was really delayed. I live here in the Philippines and I absolutely understand the long wait. I had conversations with Amazon CS and they were very helpful. The book has no tear or any damage, well packed and has an excellent quality. I was worried that the CD ROM might be broken but wasn't. It is perfectly working fine. Thank you Amazon and Seller for everything! Pray for me that I would pass the PTE Academic exam. SOON. 👍

It is a good book by pearson and helped in understanding the format of the exam. However, this book is not for practise except for the content in the DVDs.

Bought this a revision tool for test found it really useful and passed.

if you want to know what the exam is all about, then I recommend it. It shows 20 items found in PTE Academic. It also comes with 3 practice tests in the CD.

This is a very good guide to the PTE Academic test. As mentioned by several reviewers, this gives you a clear picture of the test format, types of questions and samples along with the time allocated for each item. The maximum you can score in this test is 90. I wanted to take the test to apply for a points based Australian visa. In order to qualify, I should have scored a minimum of 50 in each of the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing). However, a score of 50 would not have given me any points required for the visa. A score above 65 would give me 10 points and a score above 79 would give me the maximum points, which is 20. I took the test at Bangalore center during the last week of Feb and I was able to score more than what was needed for the 20 points. I did not spend much time preparing for the test, except the day I took the online scored sample test available on the Pearson website($35 if I remember correctly). While the test was very helpful, I did not get the score as promised in 24 hours. In fact, the sample test score came a week later, by when I had already got my actual test results. Initially, I stated looking at some online content and then purchased this book. I did not have the time to go thru the contents on the CD’s provided with the book. But I found the contents of the book very useful. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who plans to take this test.
