Fresh, Flavorful, and necessary for basic Nord and Stormcloak seasonings
I purchased this product as a result of receiving The Elder Scrolls Skyrim cookbook. I have never heard of this spice before but this is required for the Nord and Stormcloak seasonings. My friend did happen to purchase some from a local spice shop while this product was being shipped. I can say this product is far more flavorful than what she purchased. The product was not expired (and does not for another 2 yrs) and is fresh. It is a type of pepper but has this really exotic and whimsical/magical taste to it. (Which is why i think the Elder Scrolls fandom probably picked it).I have used it whole and ground some. Both ways are wonderful. And there is alot for the amount of money that was charged. Quick shipping and great packaging.

Great tasting alternative to pepper
I tried this because I became allergic to pepper, but if I'd known about it years ago, I would have made the switch anyway. It has a more subtle, nuanced flavor and everyone who's tasted it in my cooking has loved it. I do have to use more than I normally would with cracked pepper, but it's really delicious. And this is the third time I've purchased it from the Spice Lab and each time it has arrived fresh and in good condition.

Love this spice
Love this spice!! I often use this in place of pepper and it has a nice mild flavor. I used up the jar I had and discovered that Whole Foods (a long drive from home) doesn't carry it anymore. No big deal. The price and quantity for this is great and it comes right to my door! It arrived fast and came in a sealed package. Grains are fresh as indicated by their brown color. Seller also included a small wooden spoon and a sample package of salt. Will buy more when needed. Recommend!

Extremely mild spice, like a delayed light black pepper.
Not sure if it's the brand or just the spice but for the price the flavor was not as nice as I... surmised (rhyme?) But nevertheless it gets used.

Yum
Not as strong of a flavor as black pepper, but more complex. I particularly love it with sharp cheddar, and I am trialling applications for that pairing.

Very Pleasant
Very nice substite for black pepper. Put in your pepper mill and it will give your foods a slight kick with a nice citrusy back note. Smells nice as well. I have been using it regularly and it seems nice on everything so far. It would probably be great on fish.

GREAT BLACK PEPPER ALTERNATIVE!
I recently started having coughing spasms and an itchy throat every time I ate something that had freshly cracked pepper on/in it (kind of scary I know). I did some research for PEPPER ALTERNATIVES and this popped up so I ordered some. I LOVE IT! It provides a nice "peppery" taste but without the harsh spice after. I use it in ALL my dishes!

Great flavor
This pepper has a very distinctive flavor and makes your food shine. I used it on salmon and my guest were so entranced by the flavor. As a chef...this is what separates the cooks.
