Wow, just wow. This is an amazing story & so well written.You will definitely have a love hate relationship with Gage & Kayla . I have never hated a male lead character so much but at the same time will him to succeed in all he wants, which includes Kayla. He treats her terribly & yet she stays around for it. In the beginning you know she has to because the alternative is worse.The story is full of BDSM, but if you think he's going to go all lovey dovey on her you'd be wrong .It's a brilliant, addictive read that you won't be able to put down

I warn you once you start this you'll struggle to put it down. I'm left with mixed feelings... Gage is an a-hole, not very many redeeming qualities and the 'experiences' he brings are brutal at times. Poor Kayla, what a crap life, who can she trust? That said I felt she was very cavalier with the time she spent with her daughter. Why didn't she push for more? Or was it another example of her true desires? Hmm I'll have to think it over. Overall its well written and hot, with some great plot twists. I sure didn't see that coming! I'm not sure if I'll read book two, maybe too much unhappiness for me. I will definitely check out Gemma James' other books though.

Kayla has been caught by her boss Gage of stealing money from his company. Gage gives Kayla the option of becoming his slave in the bedroom or going to jail. Kayla does not want to go to prison because her 3 year old daughter is very ill in hospital. Follow Kayla in this dark romance as she puts trust in her boss with his out of court agreement.I found The Devil’s Kiss to be a FUN read. It is an ADULT erotic story that has a fair amount of sex which involves a lot of BDSM. This tale is unrealistic but enjoy this book for what it is, a story of a fantasy world within a master and slave relationship.The characters of Gage and Kayla were well developed and the rawness of their relationship is fully explored. Other characters are brought into this story to play their part, co-workers, an old boyfriend and an ex-husband.I liked how this whole story was told in the first person, from Kayla’s point on view and with a linear time frame. There is a plot which gives this book a useful framework to work around. I liked how social issues were explored including the old adage of victims of domestic abuse whose new partners very often abused them. Sadly some women seem to repeatedly attract abusive men, going from one bad boy to another.The Devil’s Kiss is a work of fiction and although the situations are very unlikely, I suggest the reader simply goes along with it and enjoys it as ADULT entertainment for a mature audience. Because this story is unbelievable, it is very easy to find it funny in many, many places. For example…“We have a Christmas party to get to.” Gage helped me to my feet, and I gasped when he spun me around and pushed me to the bed. “Bend over.” I hadn’t noticed the cocktail dress he’d set out on the mattress...or the butt plug and nipples clamps. I cringed to think of the pain those things would inflict.His eyes lingered on my nipples, and the edges of his mouth turned up. “Stand up straight and clasp your hands behind your back. You’ll learn to present your breasts properly.”...The Devil’s Kiss is NOT a wonderful book but it is full of surprise that will raise your eyebrows and maybe a laugh with the role play between Kayla and Gage. It was a welcome change and distraction from my usual crime/mystery/thriller genre and I consider The Devil’s Kiss to be an OKAY 3 star read.

Absolutely brilliant book hooked from the start couldn't put it down superb well written and a great cast of characters and story line

Oh wow, how do you review this book? 🤔 It has some good parts (not nice, but good parts) it has some nasty (and I mean nasty) in fact it's probably nasty most of the way through! It has some twists, a few in fact and there's probably going to be more! It has parts where you just to shake all of them and not just Kayla, but it definitely pulls you into the story and the ending has you going straight to book 2!

Could not put this book down! Definately recommend and I will be reading more of Gemma James' books! Thank you Gemma

It wasn't a badly written book. It kept me going to the end. But I feel like it was more of a first draft than a polished plot. There was a lot of events thrown in that read like they were the authors good ideas, but not properly planned. There is one part, I won't spoil it, but a reveal at the end with Ian and Gage that caused a real eye roll for me.It has potential and it was a nice little quick read. I would probably give it 3.5 stars to be honest.I am not really a BDSM reader, but to me this book seemed off on that. The BDSM was more like rape than consensual as she was blakcmailed into it. I think this kind of story gives BDSM a bad reputation, but thats just my opinion.

I haven't read much BDSM as it's not my cup of tea but with a warning like this I had to! Now I love a good shocking book, and this was that. And it gets into it straight away, no mucking about!Gabe is a cold hearted so and so, I wanted to kick him in his man bits for tearing a woman away from her very sick child. I hated him. For all that he did. And then I started wondering if there was a reason.....I'm outraged! A book made me feel outraged! But I had to read on.Gabe is still not redeemed in my eyes, I am not sure if he could get that reaction from me..book 2 calls to me!

Gemma James did not pull any punches with this one. If dubious consent fiction isn’t your thing, you’ll want to avoid this book. If you can handle it though, you’ll find an intense psychological thriller mixed in among the erotic romance.Kayla made the mistake of stealing from a sadist. Gage Channing took advantage of the situation and punished Kayla himself. Why? Because he’d had his sights on her for some time. Motivated by a dark past, his intentions are sinister, making Gage the classic anti-hero.If the plot of this book were a road, I’d have travel sickness by now. It took so many twisty turns. I’m still not sure who was more blind-sided, me or Gage! I’m keen to see what happens next. If you can handle the heat and the trigger warnings, I recommend giving it a go.

A character driven drama between men who control and a confused young women seeking freedom. This read was such an emotional one but with nail biting episodes that glued me to it's pages. Cruelty and affection side by side but in small doses that gives such foundation to this convoluted tale. I was hooked and must read more but can't believe I do after such an emotional journey. Though the Stockholm style of persecution I felt had me baffled for a time I still clamoured for more. So me being eager to read such a painful subject which I would normally fold then the author deserves a 5 star for her unique gift. Well done......

I'm a voracious reader and there's nothing I enjoy more than discovering a great new author so after reading the blurb and the free sample, I was intrigued and decided since the book was offered as a free download by Amazon, I would give it a whirl. And I'm really glad I did. James is a skilled wordsmith and a gifted storyteller as evidenced by the fact I not only read the first free book, but ran back to Amazon and purchased the second and third. I found some of the content rather disturbing but I will concede, it's very realistically portrayed. I was immediately drawn into this story by the two protagonists, Kayla Sutton and Gage Channing. These two characters were absolutely fascinating, completely mesmerizing and played off each other brilliantly. Wealthy businessman, Gage Channing is a sadist in the truest sense of the word, deriving sexual pleasure from the pain and punishment of others and more specifically Kayla Sutton, his personal assistant. The cast includes several other very intriguing characters, all of whom are pivotal to the story. These characters are dark, complex and engaging but the author does an exceptional job of building and developing each player perfectly. And just when you think you have an understanding of both them and their nature - WHAM - the author blows your mind with another revelation. I was glued to my seat, gasping for my next breath with my heart hammering in my chest, and turning the pages so fast, my Kindle couldn't keep up! I hated it...I loved it...I abhorred it...I was enthralled by it...I was sickened by it...I was fascinated by it. I wanted to throw my Kindle against the wall....but couldn't stop reading it! Please allow me to make something perfectly clear, this is not just erotica but so much more. It is an erotic romance with a hypnotic underlying story of heartache and pain featuring a very complex and psychologically damaged cast of players. They are quite simply magnificent. The story is enthralling, spellbinding, addictive, suspenseful and erotic. The dialogue is shocking, seductive, exceptionally well executed and flowed effortlessly. The entire narrative is beautifully written in the first person from the perspective of Kayla Sutton, a beautiful twenty eight year old divorcee and single mother with a very painful and troubled past who has a three year old daughter named Eve suffering from a life threatening illness. All the traditional treatments have failed and Eve is in desperate need of a costly experimental treatment not covered by insurance which forces Kayla to resort to the theft of company funds in order to pay for her daughter's treatment expenses. Her crime is discovered by her boss, Gage Channing, owner of Channing Enterprises. Gage confronts Kayla with evidence of her crime but rather than report her to the police, he offers her a deal...sign a six week contract to become his sexual slave or go to jail. In Gage Channings's eyes, he's offering Kayla a deal, a choice, but in reality he's a master manipulator who has been searching for a way to blackmail Kayla into becoming his willing submissive and sex slave. Unfortunately, neither Kayla nor Gage expected to be completely drawn in by their explosive yet undeniable attraction to each other and neither planned to ever fall in love. There is so much more at play that is carefully, masterfully and skillfully revealed over the course of the three books. And OMG! I could not stop reading it! I cried! I sobbed! I screamed profanities and shook my fists in anger! And several times, I wanted to throttle the characters and throw my Kindle at the wall but isn't that what entertainment actually is? Engaging with the characters, empathizing with them and becoming so caught up in the story itself that you lose track of time? That's exactly what happened to me when I read this story. So in reviewing this book, I ask myself, what did I love about this story? Pretty much everything, even the parts that were hard to read! What didn't I like? Again, some of the scenes were almost too painful to read but I couldn't stop, I had to continue. I had to know what happened! Would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only to adult readers! Will I read this author again? Absolutely! As I said, I've already purchased the second and third books. And I'm sure I'll be reading many more books from this author in the future! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!***I'm not a professional reviewer but I do know what I like, what love and what I don't and I loved this story. And if I truly love a story, I give it five stars. This is only my opinion with my review being based on not only on my enjoyment of this book but also on its exceptional presentation and craftsmanship.

Straftaten, ein todkrankes Kind, häusliche Gewalt, ein Exehemann (brutal), ein EXfreund, ein Sadodom (mit Kontrollverlust), eine erzwungene, sehr schmerzvolle Sklavenbeziehung und eine zu werdende Exfreundin die sich vom Exmann verprügeln läßt und auch noch kriminell wird.....habe ich was vergessen? Ach ja, eine Strafe in der sie stundenlang ausgepeitscht wird Blut fließt - aber anschließend fährt sie im Auto nach Hause....Für mich war es halbausgegorener Wirrwarr und kein Lesespass !
