Great for mock St. Louis style pizza!
I wanted to get Imo's pizza for my husband's birthday and was considering spending about $200 for maybe 8 Imo's pizzas from Goldbelly, but opted to just go with sauce and cheese and see if we could make it work with store-bought crusts, sauce, toppings, etc. The first pizza turned out to be pretty close to what we've had in St. Louis- the cheese really makes it.We estimated that the two blocks of cheese could make about 15 or more medium sized pizzas, so cost winds up being around $3 per pizza for the cheese. Overall, great deal, and my husband is really excited that we can make St. Louis style pizzas from home.

Shockingly Good!
Well, as an East Coast Italian girl, I wasn't supposed to love, or even like, this chesse, especially not on homemade Sicilian Spinach Pizza. But I've seen this so much on TV cooking shows that I just had to see what St. Louis knew that I didn't. And the answer is clear: this is a really tasty, melty cheese!! The only things that are different from mozzarella are that it's not stretchy, so you don't get all of the cheese on your face when you bite it, AND, because it melts more quickly than mozzarella, on a thick Sicilian pizza, it turns brown when the bread is ready. But it didn't taste burnt, so overall I'd say that I'd recommend Provel to others, and will probably buy this again!

so it was really great to be able to purchase it online
We had never been able to find this cheese locally here in New Mexico, so it was really great to be able to purchase it online! I've seen it on so many cooking shows that I was anxious to try it out and it delivered! Very good product. I was concerned about how it would ship and if it would go bad if it came during the day while we were at work as the temp here gets around 100 in the summer months, Pleasantly surprised by the packaging - it was in a styrofoam cooler and had several cold packs in with it and was cold when I got home from work even after sitting on the front porch for awhile. The cooler was nice enough to re-use in sending food home with my kids. Very pleased with this purchase and will buy again! :o)

Top Cheese
I make home made pizzas often. I have been searching for the perfect cheese for a long time. I came across this cheese and my searching is over.I rate melting quality and taste as the most important qualities of my pizza cheese and Provel hits the top of the charts. I use in in other dishes as well.Why this product never found its way out of St. Louis I will never understand, but it will be comming to NE ohio from now on.

Unimpressed
I placed this cheese on a pizza thinking it’d be a great combination of cheeses for a pizza. Once the timer went off and I pulled the pizza out of the oven I found this wasn’t the greatest choice made. There was a LOT of moisture puddles on my cast iron pizza pan. There’s a TON of moisture in this cheese so keep that in mind should you order this cheese.

Tastes like Velveta with a hint of provolone and swiss
I gave this cheese 4 stars because it was packed well with ice packs, and arrived very quickly, well wrapped, and fresh.For my taste the flavor is a bit too processed .However, my young nieces and nephews really liked this cheese.This cheese tastes best when melted, IMO. Good for welsh rarebit, mac & cheese for children., etc.I used it as a pizza topping, and it bubbled and browned in a way very similar to American cheese.If you like Velveta and American Cheese, you will like this brand of Provel.

There’s a reason why it’s only in St. Louis
I’m from Missouri and never heard of this till I saw it on Andrew Zimmern .This stuff tastes like provolone flavored velvetta...I saw videos about St. Louis pizza and had to try it..very ordinary.. again just a mild tasting white cheddar/ provolone blend..got 2 big blocks so hoping will work with broccoli, mac & cheese, grilled cheese
