Turmeric Supplement for Insulin-Resistant PCOS
Having lived with insulin-resistant PCOS for decades, I just recently learned from my new doctor that supplementing with Tumeric can be very beneficial. As research shows, if you have PCOS, taking turmeric may reduce insulin resistance, lower blood sugar levels, and increase your HDL or “good cholesterol” levels. All of these benefits stem from curcumin's ability to lower inflammatory markers. The most researched compound in turmeric is curcumin, which is an antioxidant that is said to lower inflammation at the molecular level. This can be incredibly helpful for PCOS because chronic inflammation and elevated cortisol (the stress hormone) usually go together. With all that being said, and since I occasionally suffer with inflammation, I decided to try this supplement after doctor recommendation.I have been taking 1 capsule a day with a full glass of water, about 20-30 minutes before a meal, for the past 2 weeks.Although I can’t say that I’ve felt any difference just yet, my doctor did inform me that it could take anywhere from 4-8 weeks before a tumeric supplement can actually help with PCOS inflammation. So I plan on continuing this supplement daily and will update this review once more time has passed, sharing my personal results, good or bad, and if any.The bottle arrived with all safety seals intact, capsules are normal size & easy to swallow.I have not experienced any stomach discomfort from this supplement, nor do the capsules have or leave a bad taste in my mouth.I do like how these have the added BioPerine, which helps with advanced absorption. If this supplement does work well for me, the current price point of $63 for a 2-month supply would be doable, especially since I’ve spent the same amount of money on other types of anti-inflammatories that have not worked for me in the past.

Tastes like Turmeric
This is more expensive than I thought Turmeric could be. I do not know if I can afford this regularly, but I’ll see. Having no taste or aftertaste, that some reviewers say is the case with this, would be a plus worth paying for. Unfortunately, those reviewers have no taste. The taste of Turmeric is more than a little noticeable, no matter how quickly I am able to get this down.I am giving this four stars. These reviews are too important to give lower ratings unless justified. I am taking a star because I do not see a justifiable reason for the difference in price between this, with Bioperine, and Turmeric without Bioperine. I hope to be proved wrong.I have Parkinson’s and arthritis, and the plethora of symptoms those two diseases provide for me. Turmeric has likely been one of the things that have made it all more bearable. But I am always looking for bigger and better. Perhaps the addition of Bioperine will make a noticeable difference. If it does, then I will update this review.

Manufactured for, not manufactured by
Like most supplements, these are "manufactured for" the label and not "manufactured by" them. In most cases, this will mean that quality across brands is going to be comparable, since they're likely to have all been made by the same company, with only the brand name label being different. This is priced on the higher end of the spectrum. Two stars deducted - one for the lack of transparency regarding who is actually making the product (and where its ingredients are being sourced from), and one for the non-competitive price point.

A great source of tumeric
I have not noticed tremendous joint changes but, I must say this is a very nice source of tumeric that seems to absorb well. So far so good

High-potency but also high-priced
I'm a firm believer in turmeric/curcumin, and I've tried many brands and formulations over the years. It helps with immunity, wound healing, and to a degree, pain relief.Because it's such an important part of my daily regime, I look for the most value and the most reliable brands. And I'm always looking for new options to try. Phytage Turmeric Total Boost caught my attention. In a single capsule, it offers 600 mg of turmeric, 50 mg of curcuminoids (the active ingredient in turmeric), and 5 mg of Bioperine to increase absorbency. I've tried similar brands with a similar turmeric/curcumin ratio, also with Bioperine. This product performs similarly to those other products with Bioperine. It does the job, and it's a worthy supplement. What is curious, though, is the price point. As of right now, this product is sold at 2-3x the price of other, similarly formulated turmeric/curcumin supplements. This price point would impact my decision on any future purchases.

Good quality, standardized turmeric, works well
Turmeric Total Boost Support Complex per capsule includes 600mg turmeric root, standardized to 95 percent curcuminoids, and 5 percent bioperine to enhance bioavailability. That's pretty much standard formulation for decent turmeric although most of the studies are done on 1g. The suggested use on this bottle is one capsule twice a day, 1.2g, so you might sell yourself short to take just one. I've been using this dose of turmeric seems like forever for systemic inflammation and specific inflammation like arthritis. I switched over to this and noticed no increase in inflammatory symptoms, with no other changes so it is working. The capsules are small, easy to swallow, mild turmeric smell, good coloring, no negative side effects noticed.
