WOW – This tool is as beautiful as amazing!
Last year I needed to change some sprinklers in the front yard. I was dreading doing it myself because I didn’t want to dig. I ended up finding a handyman on Craigslist to do it. He did the job but left a mess and dug the holes a bit too big.I needed to change a couple of more sprinklers again but did not want to go through the same experience. So I looked around and came across the xTrax tool website. The demo video made it look so simple and I thought it was too good to be true. There weren’t many reviews apart from what they had on their website. I think the tool just came out. I was a bit nervous but decided to pull the trigger when I saw it on Amazon. The tool came in last week. The package is pretty and when I opened it – the tool itself is beautiful. It’s made from stainless steel and has good weight. It feels comfortable and is very well made. It says on the box that it’s made in USA so that was a big plus for me.Over the weekend I decided to put the tool to the test. I unscrewed the sprinkler head by hand. It came off fairly easy. I pinched the xTrax tool and inserted into the sprinkler body as the instructions said and began to turn to unscrew. A few turns later the sprinkler body was loose from the pipe so I gently pulled and sprinkler came clean out of the hole. Not an inch of mess. I then took the new sprinkler used xTrax to install it. I didn’t time it but the whole process was super-fast.I changed out the other sprinkler and was done with the whole thing in less than five minutes.I’m so happy that I got the tool. Well worth the money.

Pricey, but very effective tool that saves time.
I wish it wasn’t so expensive, but it was easy to use right out of the box. I changed out a bad Hunter and Rainbird sprinkler head in about 5 minutes each. I had to dig just enough to expose the cover. I’m really glad my contract irrigation specialist ignored my phone calls and texts for service, because now I can easily do this myself at the cost of only parts.

Expensive but quality
If you are a professional gardener or have lots of sprinklers to replace, this is an awesome tool. I was very impressed by the build quality (very sturdy, looks like it will not rust, etc) and it certainly made the job much quicker and easier than digging the sprinkler body out. But it's very expensive. I just needed it for a few sprinklers this time, so hopefully it'll pay for itself in labor after a few more uses. I love that it's made in the USA, but when Amazon offers a payment plan for a hand tool, it's at the wrong price point.

Only good to remove.
It worked great to remove the old head and it is well constructed. However, it skips when I was tightening the new heads.I still need to dig to make a good seal for the new heads. It may be great for other ground situations. It’s not worth the $98 to do the easy half of the job for me.

Really works!
This is a great product. I replaced 12 sprinklers in about 45 minutes. I haven't ever written a review but this product saved me. I had never even replaced a sprinkler before this. You must by this, you won't regret it. Bust purchase ever

Save your money, wont work on everything and its cheaper to go another route, You can use this for one thing only.
I just got this in the mail yesterday was anxiously awaiting it. It is not worth what you pay for it, I showed my irrigation guy and he said it will not work on my irrigation , I have a big long pipes ones about 12-16 inch long. He said it will not work on all sprinkler heads and its not worth the money. When I told him how much he thought I was crazy. I am returning today, I will see how the seller is refunding my money. I am having to remove the 1/2 and 3/4 inch pipe extensions and it didnt work will on those at all , maybe the sprinkler casing and that is about it. So my little 10.00 T handle with like an easy out tip works the best.
