Q: How fast will this kill lice?

Kills lice and anchor worms in three weekly applications. Very effective.No harm to fish.

Q: Do carbon filter components need to be removed?

I apologize-I cannot answer your question as stated, but I can tell you that if you are able to treat your fish in a tank using a sponge filter, the medication will work. It took a little longer than I thought it would but eventually it got rid of the anchor worms

Q: When adding the second treatment do you add the same amount of the chemical or only for the amount of water that was taken out for water change?

1 oz. per 300 gallons- be sure to do a 20% water change before each treatment. Treatments are 1 week apart for a total of 3 weeks.

Q: Can this be used in conjuction with Pimafix or Melafix?

From what I have read, yes, however if your fish just have lice don't need the Melafix.
