This is supposed to stick to a hearth. Ours is stone and it doesn’t stick at all.

While this hearth guard does cover my entire hearth, this is really just two of the smaller kits packaged together. They throw in an extra straight section and double velcro straps. It doesn't change the function of the product, but they charge almost as much as two of the smaller kits and you don't get the extra side pieces.I also think velcro is not the best idea to attach the guard. My daughter pulled it up after five minutes. The adhesive stayed put, but it really doesn't take much strength to separate two strips of velcro.I would purchase it again since I didn't see many other options for my extra long hearth, but I was dissapointed when I opened the box.

This hearth guard is very good for those of us who have a very large hearth. This product was good because if it didn't exist I'd have to buy two of the smaller hearth kits. As many of the other reviews have stated, the double sided velcro tape doesn't always stick well (it's really a function of your brick). If the tape doesn't stick to your brick you'll need to go to your local home improvement store for some better tape. In my case about 2/3 of the tape pieces stuck well (using the proper cleaning instructions), so I only had to do some spot repair.

Was trying to find something to protect the kids from the fireplace hearth for months and was wishing they made something like this. Then ta-daa! I found something similar at Home Depot and Toys R Us, but they were not long enough, short by about 5 inches. This one is one of the longest ones I have seen. 81 inches. The product is perfect but the seal that comes with it is useless. It was recommended we try Dap "Seal and Peel", but nope. Waste of money. Kids peeled it like a banana. Instead a contractor that was over at our house putting up new windows recommended OSI "H2U" door and window sealer, which worked WAYyyyy better and so far the bumper hasn't been peeled off by the toddlers, ages 2 to 3.5 years.

Product covers the fireplace as intended but the Velcro does not want to stick to the bricks so my daughter can pull the foam off the fireplace. It would be five stars with another adhesive alternative. XL feature is this fit my 10 ft fireplace.Product description would be more helpful if it showed the length of the pieces that you're buying so you can judge how it will need to go before you purchase

The only thing I dislike is the width. I personally would like it wider. It is easy to take off. Which could be good or bad. My granddaughter ripped it off once. She is 15 months. Though it did not leave any glue marks which is a plus. So far so good. It is serving the purpose and the appearance is nice.

The color matched our brown bricks well and this was the only one that fit our long fireplace, it cushions very well but the kids still try to pull it off. I cleaned both the cushions and fireplace with alcohol very well and my husband also used an additional glue (epoxy) then placed heavy boxes on it to dry, this did all help, overall a good purchase.

The product is great for peace of mind with a one-year old running around the house. The adhesive does not really want to stick to our stonework around the hearth, but that has more to do with this flagstone. It worked fine in our old house. I would recommend it if you are more concerned about safety than aesthetics.

My package came with blue single sided duct tape. It isn't double sided or velcro. There is no way to attach the pad to the hearth!

A must item around the house to protect your toddlers. We use them everywhere even with furniture. Clean the surfaces with paper towel dipped in isopropyl alcohol before putting the velcro. That is the proper way to apply them.

Edges don't stick too well, they rise up from the adhesive pad over time, no matter how many times they're pushed down
