Compatible with Arduino
I can confirm that these will read and send IR codes. I used them with a small IR remote. My final product was a silly universal remote that didn't work well due to my shoddy coding skills. This product does its job.

Easy to use
Needed something quick in figuring out what kind of data my Samsung remote was sending out and repeat it using a ESP8266. Worked like a champ.

Work well and they're sturdy.
Worked PERFECTLY for me.

No issues, no problems
works as advertised. no surprises. would buy again if/when needed.

Mis-advertised name of the product
In the title it says 38khz twice. This is not a 38khz circuit. It has just an Ir Receiver and, an Ir Transmitter Sensor and a few resistors. I made a mistake of byuing w/o expecting the schematics, and assuming it will come with the signal generation looking at such a high price.

Works, but they burn out quickly
They do the job, but I have gone through 2 sets in just a couple of months. A little iffy to recommend.

It works as advertised
Works exactly as advertised. Follow the instructions to add it to the pi.

This is not a 38khz emitter.
These little IR modules are rarely described clearly. Read Carefully. This one " 38khz Ir Receiver 38khz Ir Transmitter Sensor Module Kit" has 38khz in the title twice leading one to believe that both the Receiver and Transmitter are 38khz. This receiver does detect 38khz and outputs a logic level AFTER it sees a packet of 8 or more 38khz pulses. But a continuous 38khz signal will not be seen. This is great circuit for inside a remote controlled TV, which is why is it so inexpensive. The Transmitter is merely an IR LED that can be pulsed at any frequency including 38khz. It does not include any circuit to turn it on and off, or drive the 38khz. Repeat, it is just an LED and current limit resistor, nothing more . On an Arduino or similar you can output a tone at 38khz into the IR LED and activate the receiver, but only if you turn the tone on and off, a processor intensive operation. Or you can build your own timer circuit (555) to make 38khz and turn it on and off with an Arduino. NOTE: So far I have been able to find an actual 38khz emitter, with the frequency generator circuit included, only on Ebay.
