Cable Matters 2-Pack 2 Way 4 Pin PWM Fan Splitter Cable - 4 Inches, PC Fan Splitter 1 to 2 Converter, PC PWM Extension Cable

I have an Alienware Aurora R16 that I wanted to add an additional intake fan to. However, the manufacturers didn't bother including the extra fan header for me to connect one. I didn't want to try attacking my motherboard with a soldering iron, so I got this instead. It has two different connectors, one 4-pin and one 3-pin. The 3-pin connector still has a PWM signal so the fan that's connected to it still spins at a controlled speed. The missing pin is a tach signal which is used for reporting RPM (if the BIOS receives two tach signals from the same header it might freak out). This works great if you're adding another fan to your case but don't have enough headers on the motherboard to connect one to. The package contains two 4-inch long (10 centimeter) braided cords, so I didn't have to worry about the cable length of my new fan.

Thes splitters are well constructed, with the sheaving and end heatsink termination. They mate easily and the connection is firm. The short length helped with the general cable layout so that there wasn't a lot of tiebacks. Everything you could want in a simple fan cable.

These do what they‘re supposed to. I had more fans in the back of the case than there are connections on the motherboard. These adapters fixed that. Seems like they’re well made and they work OK.

The short 4" size was the perfect length for me to keep from having too much clutter. The sleeves are nicely done and the wire ends appear to be covered with a liquid tape (cured) type material instead of a preferred larger outer sleeve up to and or over the connectors. Still they are better than seeing colored wires and provide good extra insulation. The cables work well and appear well made.

Fan posts on many motherboards are lacking unless you want to do battle with a fan hub. These simple 2-1 attachments work well to give you 2 fan capability with only a single (3 prong) post. These have been lifesavers for me in many builds I've done and even just to simply add an extra fan to my own desktop computer. Lack of airflow, cable management and dust are the ultimate computer killers and this will give you a cooler temperature buffer without a lot of hassle. Inexpensive and worth every penny. Great to have on hand as a just in case remedy also!

No issues connecting 2 PWM fans. All fans works properly.

Works very well, both fans that are connected to it are PWM controlled as confirmed in BIOS.
