GAME Summer Escapes Skimmer Filter Pump Conversion Kit

The product itself is well made and I'm sure useful for some applications.I ordered this thinking I would need it for a conversion of a non intex pool to an intex pump. NOT the case.If you have a skimmer model pump that failed and want to convert it to be able to use an Intex pump/filter then this is not what you need.You will most likely need to get the plunger valve set up with the strainer and water outlet as well as 1 or 2 extra intex rubber washers.You will need to drill out the skimmer box and install the strainer, then attach the pump hose to the bottom of the skimmer box with the new plunger valve. Then you will need to trim the water outlet, and install the bigger water outlet and install the plunger valve then attach the hose from the other side of the pump.Sounds challenging but there are plenty of Youtube videos showing how it's done. Just search converting pool pump to intex pump.This plastic piece will not be what you need for the type pump I bought. You can check my reviews for the exact items I used.

It fit the Summer Escapes skimmer basket perfectly. It is a little tight as others have pointed out though I'm not sure that is a bad thing either.EDIT - 5/30/15:I removed one star from my original review. We put up the pool today. I purchased a new Summer Escapes hose kit for a new Intex pump. This item could use two o-rings on the part that sticks out on the bottom of the skimmer basket as the Intex to Summer Escapes adapter has. Both the new and old hose slipped on and off way to easily. Once I tightened the hose clamp it seemed to hold it in place though I don't know if it will stay on with the weight of the water or if it will leak. I'll continue to adjust my review based on my experience with this product.EDIT - 6/11/15:Yes, it leaks! I got the pool filled and found this connection leaking like a sieve and that was with a NEW Summer Escapes hose. The Summer Escapes hose clamps failed on me luckily. I had some decent quality hose clamps to replace them with. It took quite a bit of tightening to stop the leaking and I may have to replace the NEW hoses next year due to hose clamp damage. These REALLY need o-rings!

This probably works great if you have a compatible skimmer body- but not all the pools listed do.I ordered this and the pool set the same day, and knew when I unpacked the skimmer that I was in trouble. The SFS350 skimmer that comes with the 8’ Summer Waves frame pool has a very different and smaller connection to the pump, and this adapter will not fit into it at all.I considered just removing the impeller from the pump and using that as an adapter, but the pump has a bottleneck that reduces flow by about 50%, which would defeat the purpose of attaching a higher flow filter system.In the end I hacked the pump connection off the skimmer body and glued this adapter through the hole from the inside using a bunch of Plastic Welder epoxy (see images). That will do the trick, though it is worth noting that this adapter does not have an O-Ring seal on the hose end like every other pool fitting I have seen, so it will be like clamping the plastic hose to plain PVC pipe, and may drip a bit.

one of the other reviews gave the excellent and money saving advice of just using the old pump to adapt to the new pump size, and I followed that advice and saved a few bucks for the past 2 years, but finally broke down and got this after getting sick of clearing out the old pump housing. Glad I did, this DRAMATICALLY improved the water flow compared to going through the old pump, and the pool is now cleaner than ever. While I appreciate the money saving advice, if you have the $25 it is worth it in the time you'll save cleaning. It does seem overpriced for what it is though.

I bought a 20 foot ProSeries above ground pool this year. It compares to the Summer Escapes brand. I purposely bought this model because of it's thru the wall skimmer. I also knew that I wanted to buy a sand filter and found a good deal on an Intex filter. The only problem was that Intex uses a different size thread than any other pool manufacturers, making it a little tough to convert. This conversion piece fit perfectly thru the skimmer and I used an ordinary hose clamp to tighten it onto a section of hose. It allowed me to completely bypass the original pump that came with the pool and I have a far more efficient way to filter my pool. Just wish I could have figured it out in the beginning.

Well, everyone who said it did not fit, you just need to be smarter than the fitting. I just lightly tapped it with the broad side of the hammer two taps and it went right in. I did it while the pool was full and the skimmer attached. Fit great, nice and tight so it will not leak. You will need to get a 1 1/2 x 1 1/4 pvc tube connector (part #23440 lowes) and a 1" pvc expand repair coupling (#1633 Lowes), for the outlet hose to adapted to the existing summer escape pool. Take the outlet hose bib 90 from the existing from the existing summer escape pool and the straight hose fitting adapter with you to Lowes and you can rig it up easily. Takes about ten minutes once the rest of the pump is assembled. It is well worth the time and trouble to do the modification. The pump works way better then the one that cam with the pool.

Exactly what I needed! Recently bought a sand pump to replace the poor pitiful pump that came with the pool. Actually have to say this would be the FOURTH year for that pump and it is still working but I retired it! Last year added a salt water filter and the old pump struggled to keep up. At any rate, had to replace our skimmer filter to be able to use this conversion set to connect the sand pump. Been two weeks and the water is clear as glass and all is working perfect.

I would strongly discourage buying this product!!Not only is this product not what it states it is, neither is the shipping process. I am very dissapointed in this purchase!!
