The product has scratches and the colors of the pencils don’t match the image. I should get 3 different colors but I received 2 blue and 1 black.

I have been trying to find a pencil where the nib will retract and not poke a hole through my pockets, yet inexpensive, and sturdy so that the lead doesn't keep breaking. I have tried Bic, and a few others but nothing quite worked, the nib would retract while writing and the lead would snap. I have yet to have the lead on these pencils break. The lead is 0.7mm and writes really well. The other thing I like is the eraser head retracts via screw in and screw out. Again, works really well. Highly recommended.

First the deal: The Staedtler 774 pencils are usually at least $6 + tax delivered and then you wait and wait for the package from some far away place. With this deal the same pencil is $2.64 + tax and free two day Prime shipping so it's a real bargain. Now the pencil: The triangular grip is great and very comfortable if you were taught to hold a pencil properly back in the dark ages like I was. Includes some great features like an awesome twist up-down eraser and retractable pipe. Looks really classy with the pinstripes and metal end piece, at least from a couple feet away. On the down side, the upper section that includes the clip and eraser twist is made from really, really cheap looking plastic that kind of spoils the appearance and doesn't look all that durable. I'm inclined to blame Staedtler for skimping on this as I'm a big fan of Korean products. I own a Hyundai Tucson and an Elantra GT, Galaxy Note phone and several Samsung 4K TV's that all exceed expectations so I blame this on the Germans. At less that $3 each these are great pencils, especially for any environment where folks are inclined to steal them. When they "grow legs" or someone "accidentally walked off" with one you're only out three bucks and you got to use a pretty good pencil until that happens. It's certainly not a Kuru-Toga Advance but it does have a better eraser.
