Q: What is the depth of the computer stand (front to back)? Does it lift straight up?

Depth is 16". Base of the unit is 16" depth by 30" long. Total depth is 24" with the keyboard platform, but only 16" for the actual table or desk portion is needed.

Q: How do I make the desk stay in standing position? It keeps falling back down.

When I release the lever it stops wherever it is. If yours is not staying in position it sounds like it may be defective and you need a new one. I would contact Amazon regarding a replacement.

It goes up high enough. The problem you would need to ensure you take care of would actually be the height of the desk it sits on.

Don't forget that it has a pre-made hole for dual monitor stands. For some people, that may work, YET Weight will be increased.
