How difficult is to remove the red Lion arm from Voltron?

Not at all there are you tube videos now on how to do it and endorsed by playmates, just rotate the arm upwards to it is parallel witht the chest, then bring the arm towards the chest using that leverage to take the arm off.

Are these made of die cast metal?

Hi, no they are not but they are much cooler, bigger, and great for display, they do have a die cast version for around $300
