Great price for a super cute hat

I have used a booney hat for years but I wanted to find something that was more stylish that was still lightweight and practical so I could wear it while hiking, but also have it be cute so I can wear it to the beach or for a day out if I want to protect myself from the sun. This hat is just that! It's super stylish and cute, but also functional. It's not too big but it still offers a lot of sun protection, and the lightweight material and ability to fold it and make it "packable" is a huge bonus so that I can take it on the go anywhere and for any purpose!

Perhaps not during a tornado, but it can hold the hat down pretty well in a beach wind. Hoping it works on board ship but have not used it there yet. Construction is solid and it is attractive. Also has a band tightening feature inside the rim for a snug fit as well. So far I am happy to have a hat that does not blow down the beach every couple minutes.

I am not a sun worshiper. I do not like to wear sunglasses. I crave shade. I may be a vampire :)Walking the streets of Europe in a record-breaking heat wave threatened to be a true nightmare for me. We had looked so forward to our trip. I just couldn't stay back in the coolness of air conditioning. I HAD to walk (it seemed like a hundred miles!) and take in the wonder and beauty. So, I wrestled this hat out of the bottom of my backpack. It miraculously sprung into shape. I crammed it on my head and bravely stepped outside into the heat and blazing sun. I was surprised, happily surprised. This hat was perfect for me. It fit comfortable on my rather large head. The brim was easy to shape to block out the sun from any direction. The chin strap was a godsend! Not only was it hot outside, the wind was often strong and determined. That did not phase me one bit. My hat stayed on my body. We entered many cathedrals and churches, where I was able to easily slip my hat to hang against my back. I found myself smiling and enjoying our much-anticipated adventures. No more whining. I became almost bearable.My Simplicity hat will travel right along with me on any future travels. It's a magic hat!

I ordered this hat to take on an upcoming cruise. In the meantime I've worn it several times and am very pleased with it. It does a great job of protecting my head from the Florida sun. Also, the brim doesn't block my vision when I wear it while driving. It is lightweight enough to stay comfortable (I've had it on for several hours at a time), but it is sturdy enough to retain the shape.I am 66 years old, have short hair, and it looks great on me. Normally I would not wear a hat with a "neck string", but I wanted one in this case, anticipating a windy deck while cruising. Here at home I just keep the bead that adjusts the strings pulled all the way down, away from under my chin and it doesn't get in the way at all. It also arrived well packaged. It did have a very slight "dent" in the crown that probably occurred en route. I rolled up a small piece of fabric and stuffed it in the crown overnight, and that slight dent was gone by morning. (it would be great if the shipper stuffed the crowns with paper before mailing to prevent this) The quality and color of the hat materials are great. Highly recommend

Wanted a sun hat, but this is more like a bucket hat. The crown is high. I still will wear it when walking my dog on a sunny day.
