Works great on almost all surfaces
Key Points: Works great as expected on almost all surfaces. Slightly redesigned so on/off switch is deeper set, making it more difficult to turn on/off. Purpose: Replace an X3000 that I've used for a decade, that I dropped one too many times. Also, purchased extras to keep at house/office & in my business bag so I wouldn't have to worry about forgetting to pack it. Pros: 1. Works great on almost all surfaces that I've tried. This is not true for most other brands of mice, including other name brands. I normally carry a mousepad if I have to use other brands, but never had any problems with the HP. 2. Battery life/demand is very good. In fact, I often use older batteries that no longer work on my wife's MS mouse (real battery drain) & they work fine in the HP. I've never had to put in a brand new battery, always used my wife's used batteries. Cons: 1. The on/off switch is deeply set. Apparently the G2 is slightly redesigned original series X3000 that I had. I have to poke in my fingernail tip in order to move the switch. This is true of the other X3000 G2 I purchased separately, so it appears to be a constant design, not a production anomaly. Neutral: 1. I prefer this shape, rather than the other supposed "ergonomic" shapes.

Great budget mouse, may have to fox later if you are a "Clicker"
This was super affordable. It did lose it's clicking ability and I thought maybe I should buy a more expe sove mouse. We'll after some investigating on this broken mouse there is a tab that presses down on the clicker which got worn down from my OCD clicking and all I did to fox was put super glue onto a toothpick and painted a new layer of plastic tab that presses the click. Thst was all it needed. I think I'll have this mouse for a while now but if you like to click a lot then be prepared to have to pry up the light plastic where you rest your fingers and super glue to fill in what has been worn away. For the price and functionality I don't mind having to fix my own mouse, plus it has a story which I like.

Good Quality for The Price
I really like the design and feel of this mouse. My wrist was getting sore from using the key pad mouse on my laptop! I don't know why it took me so long to realize I needed a mouse like this to help prevent the back of my hand from cramping. The only downside was the directions were tricky to follow since they were only images. The directions show the USB plug in stored under the back of the mouse where the battery goes. You pull it out and insert in your laptop or desk top computer. Well I opened up the battery compartment, saw the area for the USB plug in and it was empty! I was so mad. Then I looked through the packaging and the USB plug in was taped to the bubble wrap! Thankfully I hadn't thrown it away haha! I think they do that when shipping because customers couldn't see the USB stuck down in the battery area. So they tape it to the packaging instead. The directions haven't been adjusted to tell you that. So just have to make sure to not throw the packaging out so you can find the USB to plug in.

Within 4 months scroll started squeaking real bad but I remedied that with a little lub, but then the left side button will not raise back up properly after being depressed!
