I just joined my local volunteer fire department and I figured I'd order my warning light bar so it is ready to go when I get my firefighter tags on my truck. I'm on a budget, so I tried to buy the best option at the lowest cost and this seemed to be it. I read lots of reviews and I wish I hadn't ignored the one review I saw regarding how weak the magnets are on this thing. They are horrible. I literally just received it AND I don't have my special license plate yet, so I haven't driven with it yet, but I won't until I've purchased stronger magnets to hold this on the roof of my truck anyway. To test the strength of the magnets I stuck it to the side of my gun safe and it requires little effort whatsoever to pull it off. I removed one of the rubber caps over the bracket where the magnets are housed and each foot has four magnets about the size of a CR 2016 battery (maybe a hair smaller than a nickel). There is no way on Earth this light bar isn't going to come flying off the roof of my truck at 70 plus miles per hour, much less during a severe weather event. Additionally, one of the brackets was slightly bent so really only three of the feet may contact with a flat metal surface. I would try to bend the bracket but the unit overall is fairly delicate and I wouldn't want to torque it too hard. I plugged the unit in the cigarette lighter and I will say that the lights appear to be bright but then again I was only about 2 ft from the LEDs so one would certainly hope that at such close range they would be bright. The reviews that I read about the cord being too short are also accurate for anyone that drives a full size truck. There is a wire harness 1/3 of the way from the light bar to the power plug. I also wish that I had gotten one with a better flash mode selector switch rather than one mounted on the plug that goes into your 12 volt outlet. It should be functional if it lasts through numerous uses, after I have retrofitted some new magnets to the feet. Your mileage may vary but I would advise looking for a different unit and please be sure to read and pay heed to the reviews, let everyone else be the beta tester for you LOL

Extremely bright. Volunteer firefighter and when assisting the police and traffic control the officers have asked me where to get them for their personal vehicles
