Long story short: there are two types of DisplayPort -> HDMI adapters: active and passive. Passive adapters are cheap, usually work great and will get you up to 1080p. Active adapters are expensive, work with anything, and can get you up to 4k and beyond. If you are plugging in a 4K screen, skip the cheap adapter and grab this one. It works perfectly at 4k/60p and is way cheaper than any other adapter/cable out there.

At first I thought it wasn't as good as rated, as it was only displaying 4K at 30hz but when I swapped to my other computer it worked fine displaying 4k at 60hz. Turns out my older computer doesn't support it, but the cable itself will. Good buy if you are looking for something that will actually run at the rated speeds.

There’s really no need to spend extra on high-priced cables - the signal is digital, so all the hype about “better signal quality” is nonsense. It delivers a clean, stable picture every time. Save your money and just buy these - they do the job flawlessly.

The cable is 4K60 however depending on your graphics driver it can break the output to 1080p60/4K30. For me the Nvidia driver 591.74 disables 4K60 but driver 591.59 enables it

I bought for 4k@60Hz, but the image kept blacking out. I tried 30Hz and 2k, but those didn't work either (with this cable). I could only get it to work with 1080. I plugged in a red aluminum ended cable and that worked perfectly. For the price, I'm disappointed this cable did not work.
