Metal EarthF-14 Tomcat 3D Metal Model Kit Fascinations

Our youngest daughter wanted to make this airplane for her dad who loves airplanes. She has made other metal models before and enjoyed making this one. It is nice and detailed and making sure you have the right tools on hand is a definite must for all metal models like these. The wings fold in and also extend out, and it is actually a really neat model!

Damn! It is a very time consuming build and you WILL need flush cut side cutters AND a small non-grooved type pliers. It does take a lot of time to build and a bit of advice.....do it on a white poster board because it is very easy to lose one of the many small pieces. Once it's finished, it looks OK, but holy moley it took a long time.

Really enjoy metal earth models. If your looking for a different model build rather than the normal plastic models this might suit you. I would recommend starting off with an easy level and work your way up. Study the directions and take your time. The end result is very gratifying!

It was a gift to my grandson. He was proud to show it off after assembly!

My only complaints about this model are attaching the wings and being able to manipulate them after install. Granted, you don't sit there and play with the model afterwards, but the wings do get caught on the tabs of the other pieces (even when bent as per instructions). It's not a deal breaker by any definition, just a heads up for the future would-be builder.Other than, another awesome metal earth model to add to the collection. Keep 'em coming!!

The tomcat model kit is stupid accurate but the only thing that I don’t care for are the round engines that need to me crafted. Other than that, it is awesome! The wings even move back and forth

I love airplanes. The delicate model is experience. I'm making another one.

It looks good after assembly but the metalIs very cheap. Nothing like what they use to use to make these. They have definitely cut back on their materials.
