If you get the back sweats from wearing your backpack, this is perfect!! Originally got it to help stay cool, but since have also realized how great it is to use for pain while carrying a backpack too. Last hike, I didn’t feel like I was going to pass out from heat, and the cold pack helped reduce swelling in my back — whereas I might have to stop and stretch for a bit, the ice pack really helped my comfort as an older mom with everyone’s snacks and drinks on my back at all times lol. I wish it stayed cool LONGER but it’s not like it only lasts a few min. I got a good 40 min hiking in 90 degree weather before it wasn’t really keeping me cold anymore. Also doubles as an ice pack for coolers!! Fit my Jansport standard size backpack perfectly.

The plastic cracked and brought me open while wearing it on my bike ride into work. Pink ooze all over my back. Would prefer to have just managed a sweaty back.

The plastic that contains the pink gel has already split and is leaking the fluid before using it for the 2nd time. Disappointed this product didn't last longer.

We purchased this item for hubby to put on the back of his wheelchair. We live in an area summer's are super hot. This keeps him cool when we have to be out for a while.

My wife suffers from heat intolerance due to a neurological condition so I got her this so she could better enjoy an outside family gathering in 90 degree weather and it made a noticeable difference for her. It stayed frozen for about 1.5 hours and stayed cool for about an hour after that. This helped to keep her cool and she was able to be outside and enjoy family time thanks to this. It connects to your backpack with three Velcro loops on the ends and of course it is snug when you have the backpack on and tightened to your back.
