Out of the box, I was surprised to find a ratcheted box end wrench for assembly. This made the process a one person asssembly. Instructions were simple and easy to follow.The base is sibstantial and holds enough water to prevent the goal from moving. The backboard is large and so far, very sturdy. The rim is powder coated and shows no sign of delamamination or rust reported by some other buyers.The unit comes with two full sized balls, (which will need to be inflated) a hand pump with a flexible hose and two needles.It is very sturdy and has a generous height adjustment.While it is sturdy, I would not recommend allowing energetic guests to hang off the goal after dunking. Injuries could occur and you may have to fish the goal out of your pool.We have used this goal everyday for a month with no failures, so no customer service issues/calls to report.We would recommend this unit highly.

this is the second time we purchased. we bought a blue one that within two years the rim rusted and backboard cracked and peeled. we then got this black one last spring (2024) and used one summer in MI. So only may-sept. Placed in garage during fall/winter to try to avoid rust which we did but the white inner backboard is peeling and backboard cracked again. waste of money.

So we had this product for just about a year and suddenly the plastic backboard just starts to delamenate and eventually just falls off. It looks like the paint and glue they use to affix the plexiglass backboard to the plastic support just let go of it. What is sad is this thing probably only got used about 4 times while we had it.Contacted customer service and they shipped me a new replacement backboard. They said they changed the process to glue the backboard to the frame. If I have anymore issues I will revisit my review again. Great customer service.

Poor quality. Paint started to crack and peel after just 1 season.

I chose this, spent the extra, hoping it would stand up to a 13 year old boy and all his friends abusing it, and it was worth the extra! This thing is very heavy duty and made to take a beating - they dunk on it, and have so much fun! Added benefit has been that it has also gotten my husband, my father, and others more engaged in what's happening in the pool - they all challenge each other to games of HORSE/PIG, 1 on 1 games, and other silly games where one person shoots and if they make it everyone else has to shoot the same way (backwards, side arms, and whatever other silly things they can come up with!) and make it to move on to the next round. Definitely money well spent!Update July 2023 (after 1 year of use - not even really because it was in the shed all winter):Dropping to a 2 rating. After just over a year, the hoop itself is so rusted, it is dropping huge chunks of rusted off paint into my pool - which has a liner, so is a concern not only to our barefoot guests in and around the pool, but also a risk to our liner. This was stored indoors over the winter months, so in actuality it's only been about 8 months of actual use and exposure to the elements. I would not recommend this for use by a pool! This product is made and marketed to be poolside, the hoop should be made to withstand more than 8 months of use.Update August 2024: when I contacted their customer service in 2023, they immediately acknowledged a known issue with a certain batch of these hoops that made them rust and sent us a replacememt rim/net/bolts at no charge to us. They were very friendly and sent the parts very quickly! It was super easy to swap the pieces out and the new rim has not begun rusting at all yet - 1 year in. We had a pretty rough bunch of 15 year olds here a few weeks ago and one attempted to kill a horse fly on the backboard by slamming the ball into it as hard as he could, and it broke a chunk of the plexiglass off. It was very easy to find the replacement part here on Amazon, reasonably priced at $75 for the new backboard. It was very easy to swap out as well. Overall, the whole thing has been very sturdy and a great addition to our pool, once we got the rust issue resolved.

Great pool hoop---highly recommend. While this isn't a cheap product, it is a high quality product. Not only does it look great on the side of the pool, it can withstand the year-round use and the southern weather. It's easy to assemble too. We did have some issues early on---but the customer service has been outstanding---the company was highly responsive and accommodating---which unfortunately is rare with many sellers on Amazon. Don't hesitate to purchase this pool hoop if it meets your needs---you will remember the quality and quality look of product long after you forget how much you paid for it! :)

The research I did on other pool hoops was disappointing with all of the negative reviews on difficult assembly and rust. When I came across this product, I was reluctant to buy "plastic" construction. My 19-year-old set it up without looking at the instructions and needed a second hand only to attach the rim. We filled the base with water and my daughter (former D1 basketball player) and my athletic 19-yr-old (6'2") son had a blast with it! I only mention that to convey that this is a sturdy (they could hang off the rim) hoop. It looks good and although we just set it up and used it for the first time yesterday, I had to write this review because I don't see any issues arising and think it will last for a long time. It's so nice when people actually think about design and customer satisfaction. The set came with 2 quality balls, a pump (one needle attached and another for back-up) and 2 wrenches-- everything was there (plus back-ups) so the customer can enjoy their purchase immediately. I highly recommend this pool hoop!
