Perfect fit and function on my Nikon D5200. I'm still learning, but the ease of use with manual settings was incredible. This is a game changer—very reasonable price for the quality of the product I received. I will be buying more from this manufacturer. The image quality is incredible and the total weight of the lens doesn't unbalance the camera when shooting.Strongly recomend.

It doesn't say Nikon on it, but who cares.
I have used this lens on a D700 and a D7200, and image quality is as good as my Nikon 35mm 1.8G with the benefit that this is an FX lens. Would buy it again. Perhaps the build quality is not quite as good? But I don't notice it. I've heard that it is a noisy lens, but again - I don't notice it.

This is the cheap 35 to learn on
*For the cost* (very important), this lens does everything you'd need a cheap, quick 35 f/2 to do. It's build quality and feel are surprisingly nice. The focus ring is satisfyingly tactile - smooth and large enough for my fingers to grasp easily and well, unlike my nikkor D lenses. It's not the widest aperture for a 35, but for less than 100 dollars, you get functionality and value. We use this lens to film vlogs indoors with inexpensive studio lighting and it works well enough for our needs. It is soft at f2 well into the edges and is difficult to nail focus with. The AF is quite slow, but seems accurate enough.I intend to try this lens for astrophotography, but do not have high hopes due to that lack of sharpness at f2, but I'll remain open minded until I test that out. Stopped down to f/2.8 though, clarity and sharpness improve considerably. We shoot our indoor vlogs at f3.2 for that extra depth of field, but wouldn't have an issue going down to 2.8 if needed and the improved sharpness is nice at 3.2. I included two files - one full size image of a tree section unedited at f/2 (1/4000th of a second to rule out motion blur) and a cropped in version of that file to show poor sharpness right in the center of the image. The lens is a nice size. Slightly bigger than my nikkor 50mm, but smaller than my Rokinon 85mm. It works well with my Nikon D500 and when focus is on where you need it, images do look good. It also focuses close enough for near-macro photography, so that's nice.compared to other more expensive 35s out there, this is crap, but those lenses are hundreds and hundreds of dollars more in cost. That's why I give this a 4/5. It's a great lens to get the feel of a 35mm lens under your belt, but I would not recommend for pro use at all.+Good buildGood ValueClose Focus-Slow AFNot sharp at f/2

Great Lens For the Price!
After about 10 years without one, I decided I really needed to have a prime standard lens for my Nikon DSLRs. I was on a very limited budget, so I took a risk and bought this lens. This was a risk worth taking.I have been shooting around my hometown of Waco with it, and also took it with me on my wife's and my 10th anniversary trip to San Antonio. With the exception of one shot that required my 18-55mm zoom lens, the Yongnuo stayed on my D5500.The picture quality rivals that of my Nikon zooms, and of course the wider aperture allows me to capture shots in low light quite easily. The construction is solid, though admittedly not as solid as my Nikon zooms. One of the trade-offs of getting this lens rather than Nikon's or Sigma's similar lenses is that the maximum aperture is only 2.0 rather than 1.8 or 1.4. For me, the trade off was worth it. Your needs may be different, so think about that before you buy this lens.My two Nikon DSLRs are half frame models, and so this makes for an excellent standard lens. If you are using a full frame camera, this will make a fine wide-angle lens. This has quickly become my go-to lens. Don't let the low price fool you, this is an excellent lens for the price. Highly recommended.

Focus Issues Galor. Complete Waste of Money.
Is it a lens? Sure. Does it focus? Maybe 20% of the time. It's a fight to get it to focus. I've been a professional photographer for over a decade and purchased many "off brand" lenses and had minimal to no focus issues. I wanted to add a 35mm to my camera bag and this seemed like a great option. It is not. I was heavily disappointed. The first use it went okay (I'd say it focused 60% of the time during that session) but since then any attempt at using it ends with me switching it for my 50mm or 24mm. I really love 35mms so I'm extremely disappointed. I know this seems like a "cheap" option and with things like the nifty 50, it's okay to go cheap, but don't waste your money on this lens. Spend the $500 on a nikkor 35mm especially if you're using it regularly and at a professional level. Don't risk missing precious moments because this lens will let you down every single time.

Ultimately a disappointment
The lens fit well. It auto adjusted well. And the optics were pretty good. I put it on an older Nikon camera (FG) and had the autofocus of the lens turned off.It acted a little temperamental and had a non-rugged feel to it.I returned the lens when I got back from vacation. I processed my film and the shots with it did, I must say, turned out well. Probably on par with a Vivitar lens from the '70s.If they would up the ruggedness and smooth out the manual focusing issue I think I could recommend this lens.It may do well on an autofocus camera. But for now the rugged aspect just isn't there.
