Does someone know what the two small plastic peices are for that came in the box?

I own the compost container.  I too had to scratch my head about the function of “two little green things” that came in the box.

It took some experiments to discover their purpose.

They are intended to snap into the handle hinge from the underside of the hinge after you put your compost bag into the bucket and fold the excess bag material over the lip of the bucket.

The intent is the cover each of the handle hinges with some of the compost bag material.

After you have covered one hinge, you slide  one of the “green plastic dohickey’s” up the under the hinge where it snaps into the bottom of the hinge.

These clips are meant to prevent the compost bag from sliding down into the bucket as you add the compost into the bucket.

I have digitized photos of the proper location of the clips when installed.  Sorry I don’t have a video.  I believe I attached the photos to my review for this compost bin.

*****One note:  Be very careful with the two clips.  I do not know if replacement clips are available.  They do work well once you figure out the process.

My only complaints about this compost bin are 1.  The manufacturer did not include a small instruction sheet explaining what the green things are, with drawings / photos and an explanation of how to install them.  2.  It would be greatly helpful if they included a part number for the beasts and provide a website to order replacements.

You might try scanning the reviews for this item as I did attach the photos of the clips and how to install them.

Where can I get a new lid and replacement carcoal filters?

I do not know how to go about getting a replacement lid for this indoor compost bin.  You might try communicating with the manufacturer through the Amazon customer service center.

I can help you with identifying the appropriate charcoal filters.  I have been using these filters since I purchased the compost bin and have been very pleased.  The info below should give you enough information to order the filters through AMAZON.

How often does one change carbon filter

I've had this bin for over a year and have never changed the filter. I would think you could wash out the filter in warm soapy water and that would extend its efficiency. But it's up to you; if washing the filter doesn't work, then it's probably time to insert a new one.
