This book is a phenomenal and deeply moving photographic record of displaced people. It's both challenging and fascinating, and filled with a compassion and rage at the injustice that so many of fellow human beings suffer. Salgado is an incredible photographer and each photo here stands on its own merit as a work of art, but here it's the effect of the whole - the people, the stories, the lives upended - or lost - that really hits home.

Excellent work of Sebastian Salgado. Through his wonderful photographs, it shows us how far we can get as human beings and our responsibility for our actions. The book is of excellent quality. The photographs are a testament to one of the best photographers of the twentieth century. No doubt this book can not miss in the library of every documentary photographer.- P.D. Exceptional Book With Black And White Pictures - All 365 Of Them, Divided Into Four Chapters! The Pictures say it all with no captions required! The author puts all the necessary information in words in about 16 pages at the beginning of this massive tome and leaves his pictures to demonstrate the stark reality of migration and its aftermath as the harsh Truth strikes the viewer straight head on! The Pictures are an incredible study of monochrome photography and there is plenty to absorb in these pages! The paper quality is par excellence and the volume is quite heavy in weight! Sebastiao Salgado is certainly one of the greatest giants of Reportage Photography who ever lived!

Our comfort goes into the wind when we watch pictures and read the accompanying booklet of facts. Photographies are printed separately - the writing does not interfere with their deep effect. This is an excellent solution enabling practically unlimited comments as to the historical background, dates and personal observations by S Salgado.
