WiltonDessert Decorator

I bought this decorator to replace a Pampered Chef decorator that I had used for several years. The ring that holds the tip on the bottom of the cylinder of the Pampered Chef decorator split to the point that it was no longer useable and from what I had read from other reviewers this was a common problem. I decided to try the Wilton product to see if it would work better. I am very pleased with it. I used it for deviled eggs and the dispensing was so much easier and the process was so much quicker. The ring that holds the tips has more threads than my other one and is much more secure. This one was a pleasure to use.

I'm not a baker at all, but every now and then I like to make some cakes or cupcakes for my family and this product is very easy to use! It allows you to decorate a cake, cupcake or even muffins in no time and very nicely. I just have fun playing with it, trying all the different kind of decorations. If your are a professional baker this may not be good enough for you but if you are like me, just a full time mom with a sweet tooth family, then this will work just great.

My wife overlooked that it was used until she saw it had several hair on it. We can do better than a garage sale, right?

I really liked this product and still use mine, but the thumb button doesn't last. Mine started slipping within the first few uses and is useless now. I am still able to use but it takes both hands. It's still convenient for larger cakes or areas.

I purchased this along with the  Wilton Intermediate 53 Piece Decorating Set  in order to compare traditional bag piping with this device. It's a little more awkward to hold than I originally thought after filling it with icing. It is, however sturdy despite being made of plastic. Another downside is that it does not take standard decorating tips. I may try the  Wilton Dessert Decorator Pro  a little later after I get better at decorating since that particular model does take standard tips. All in all, it is a wonderful and inexpensive way to compare methods to see what works for you. If you find your hand cramps with traditional bags, this will make it easier to decorate cakes, cookies or even fill deviled eggs. Be sure to use a "lighter hand" when using this device; it doesn't take much to get the contents out.

My mother used to be a cake decorator and swears by Wilton. When I first got into dessert decorating last year, she bought this for me. At first, I was a little unsure of it, but after using it, I couldn't love it more. It's to the point to where I'll use any excuse to get this out!While the tips may be considered large, they're perfect for when you have to cover a large area. It helps things along quickly. It was super easy to load the icing and I didn't get ONE bubble in my icing for the entire use. The trigger is easy to use and the icing comes out VERY smoothly. It's even easy to use this decorator one-handed. Only 1/2 Tbsp of icing got wasted, which was just fine by me because I was finished decorating anyway.I deem this suitable for a decorator of ANY skill level. I feel like beginners particularly will enjoy this due to the ease of use.

Love it, love it, love it! I finished decorating my first cake in no time, sat back and said to myself, "That couldn't have been easier!"If I had found this earlier I would have gotten into dessert decorating a long time ago. Easy to fill, easy to use, and easy to clean. I will never pick up another decorating bag again.

I just bought this and it does do what it's suppose to do but I find that it wastes so much icing since the tips are huge. Also it's very hard to write with the writing tip with this tool. I'm returning this one to buy the regular 'bags' method.
