GROWN : Jackson, Tiffany D: desertcart.in: Books Review: A raw book with raw heart-breaking truths (No spoilers) - This book charts the journey of 17 year Enchanted Jones, who is an aspiring singer and unexpectedly a famous singer, that is, Korey Fields, recognises her talents and takes her into her palace of dreams...... Or so you think but it so happens that Korey is murdered. Who killed him and who has dragged Enchanted into his murder? This book covers many themes, especially talks out loud about social injustices like behaviour and attitude towards black people, ill treatment of minor girls and using them for unruly purposes, the dark sides of celebrities and other aspects like parents' understanding towards their children, teenage fantasies and family. The book is gripping and drags you in from the first page without leaving you bored. The writing style of the author is brilliant (putting aside the foul language used) and crisp. The unspoken horrors of those girls in real life are perfectly portrayed. The first person narration and there's a smooth link between the present and the flashback. This book will have you many emotions experienced but mostly horror and anger and sorrow will be the most. Heart touching and at the same time heart breaking..... Please do read this book. **NOTE: THERE ARE SOME SENSITIVE THINGS IN THIS BOOK AND REQUIRES BROAD-MINDEDNESS.
