I bought this to replace the one I had from Pampered Chef because that one got put in the dishwasher and the coating came off of it. This is a discontinued item with Pampered Chef so I was very happy to find this replacement. It is basically the same. Same sturdy structure and helps melt the ice cream to scoop easily. I recommend only handwashing this.

I had searched for an ice cream scoop twice. The first time I bought a different one and the outside coating came off which is icky.. so when I found this one I was nervous. This scoop is great! It’s dishwasher friendly, and durable. It has a good thickness to the handle, not to big but not small, the scoop is probably 1-1.5in and makes cute little scoops. It’s comfortable in my hand and makes scooping ice cream easy. With our last scoop I had trouble with getting ice cream and this has been much easier.

For 7 inches this seems quite small but still did well scooping ice cream.

So, first reaction out of the box? THAT'S an ice cream scoop?? Look, I'm old. To me, an ice cream scoop is BIG, it has a wooden handle, it has a lever, it was made by Americans, for Americans, for Americans to eat American ice cream, Oh beautiful, for spacious... Oops, sorry. Look, I knew it wasn't going to be THAT, but still - you look at the pictures and you make assumptions. This thing? This thing's a glorified melon baller. If you like cute, tiny, little balls of ice cream (and enjoy standing there scooping them all out, one after the other, after the other... Then this jewel's for you!

Who knew I'd be so pleased with an ice cream scoop? It works perfectly. It fits my hand well. I love it!
