Packard 3 Pole 40 Amp 208/240 Vac Contactor C340C

I used this for my walk in cooler roof top unit, 3pole 240v

Simple to wire up, connections are sturdy, This unit works excellent on my 5hp Air Compressor. Far cheaper to replace the starter box using this relay rather than buying a new "air compressor relay" I highly recommend using this relay as a motor starting relay, it has no problems handling the initial motor amperage draw! I bought this one because it uses the same voltage in the coil as what the air compressor motor runs on, makes for very simple wiring! The unit is also small enough to be attached virtually anywhere on your air compressor. For those of you who don't know, these items make it so you can use a small low amperage switch to turn on a large motor without burning out the switch contacts. Simply hook your switched power to the two small terminals. Hook your main power and the motor wires to the large top terminals. Hopefully this review can help someone save some money in this Economy.

Once in awhile the local woodworker for our motor vessels has a problem with his compressor in the shop. Last time I installed his $200 relay and it lasted a few years as usual. I ordered this one for 1/20 of the price and got him going in one day.
