Heavy Duty 6 Inch Mini Food Colander with Double Handles for Kitchen Fruit Vegetable BPA Free (Burgundy)

My mum has one just like this that I always use, so I decided to buy one for myself. It’s the same product, and it works great, it’s very sturdy and I love using it.However, this is NOT burgundy. This is purple. Burgundy is more on the red side than purple side. This is definitely more purple without really any red. Not a big deal. I’m not gonna return it just because it’s not on the red side and is actually purple. But for those who care a lot about color just be aware this is not burgundy. This is a solid purple. It sounds ridiculous I know, but this is an honest review.

I like everything about this colander except the sticker applied to the bottom. It does not peel off easily. I resorted to the detergent/hot water method which helped but still had to peel tiny pieces that wanted to keep on clinging. And just when I thought I had gotten all of the sticker off the colander I discovered that the drainage holes were clogged with remnants of the sticker and adhesive. I used a wire to ream the holes so they'd let the water through. I don't know why the sticker on the bag the colander came in wasn't enough.

Purchased one several years ago and had been searching for a new on. It's a nice size when rinsing small quanitites of berries. I would not put it in the dishwasher. My last one developed a coating from the dishwasher.

I needed to replace one of these that was almost identical and that I had bought years ago at Bed Bath Beyond for maybe five or six dollars - So, even though it is a while... I think this one is expensive...also, the plastic seems thinner than the one I was replacing. Hence four stars instead of five...However, this is the best design of similar products - has a lip/ledge on bottom so that it can drain even when placed on your drainboard, etc. We use it almost daily to wash berries to put in yogurt etc...also convenient for small amounts of pasta or salad items when you are washing items for one or two portions.

Perfect for washing morning berries. Love the color too.

This mini colander is a good value— inexpensive, sturdy, drains food and cleans well. I bought a mini colander from our local grocery store recently and use it everyday. So I bought two more from Amazon. They are convenient to use for rinsing and draining berries and legumes, which I eat everyday, without having to pull out one of my large colanders. I own three of these now and place them on the top shelf of the dishwasher or hand wash them. They are perfect for me.

I wasn't really paying attention when I ordered this, and it's really small, like a child's toy. My fault, and it's cute, but really not of much use.

It's the perfect size for washing fruit, or draining pasta for one person, which is what I wanted it for. And it won't rust!!
