Created a dramatic change to my kitchen. Get help from friends or family because it is a monotonous process to do by yourself. Degreasing then Deglossing the cabinets, then painting the base coat, then I skipped the glaze and went straight to the protective coat. I put 2 coats of the stain and protective coat. Really works well, no chipping after 3 years. Love this. It was well worth the monotonous days painting these cabinets. Buy new door/drawer handles, it really makes the update complete. Also, as you can see I updated the counter as well with Giani Countertop Paint Kit, Sicilian Sand.

This product is wonderful. The only criticism I have is that the top coat is very difficult to use if you have anything other than a flat surface. This is true with all the polyurethane products, not just the one included in this box. The easiest way to take care of the problem, and extremely faster, is to use a spray polyurethane. Just vent your room well. Another thing that makes this much easier is to use small risers for the cabinet doors. My cabinets were honey oak and just worn-looking. Just a note: don't be concerned with the base coat color; it changes dramatically when you add the glaze.

Such a great inexpensive tools for kitchen remodeling! However you need to have a space for the cabinets to dry and follow instructions! You don’t have to have degreaser as soap and water do the work! We also found it helpful to use roller instead of brush on bigger areas! Follow the strokes as they are will leave marks! The kit includes cheap, I mean really cheap paint and a polyurethane that is so thick there is no way you will get it on so it looks good without runs. First, there is no polyurethane on the market that is a one coat application outside of this kit. So my guess is they thickened this crap up for one application which makes for a terrible finish. Good paint is thick with a nice silky feel, this crap is the opposite, runny and covers nothing. Then to top it all off they are stingy with the quantity. What an utterly crappy product. I wish companies couldnt just refund the purchase price but were actually held responsible for the cabinets they ruined then they wouldnt release this junk.

I was a little nervous using this for the first time, but now I’m on my 3rd box, and everything I’ve used it on has come out amazing. I can’t speak to the optional “Decorative Glaze”, because I didn’t use that part of the kit. I’ve also use the Rust-Oleum support line, and they are extremely helpful.
