Kaytee Laying Hen Diet, 25 Pound

I like that it has quality ingredients. I dislike that is arrived with a hole in the bag and spilled inside the box and no way for me to return. I got hungry chickens here. Very disappointed for the money I spent.

These are excellent pellets. Other pellets I've tried tend to have a bunch of pulverized powder at the bottom of the bag, which clogs up my treadle feeder. I also really appreciate the 25 lb package size, which is easier for me to haul around than the usual 40 lbs. For six hens I'm having one bag delivered every month.

I had pictures of the food but there is nowhere that I can upload them on here, strange. anyways, the small pellets seemed a little too big for my small chickens, they are silkie and cochin mix. I fed my chickens this and I watched them, hoping they will not choke but they did okay, one of them looked to be having a little trouble swallowing the pellets but I think they just had to get used to it because they are doing okay now with it.I also have to give a BIG shout-out to Amazon for very fast delivery. I choose this chicken food because it was the earliest delivery and the cheapest on Amazon at this time (though more expensive than anywhere else) of the coronavirus and I needed the food ASAP. (long story short, I have no car and rats had gotten into my stash of chicken food). I was supposed to get this food in 4 days so I was feeding my chicken's canned chickpeas and beans and cooked rice, and to my surprise, the chicken food came the next day I ordered it. Thank you so much Amazon for that, I wish i can formally thank you for helping me in this time of crisis.

A chicken waltzed into my yard last year, I had no idea about what to feed him/her. It seemed to have escaped from somewhere not nice because there was string tied to its leg. Anyway that was an entire year ago! Never had layed an egg, never once. I bought this "laying hen" feed because it was a big bag. Today I see 2 eggs in his dirt bath box! B-) If you are looking to get eggs this apparently is the stuff!

I bought this for my chickens and for about two days they did not eat it at all. I have to soak it with water and add stuff (greek yogurt, honey, water, scratch, and treats) for them to eat it. One of my girls is a very picky eater and she won't eat this at all now, she only ate it a couple of times. Two of my girls just started laying I'm not sure if the pellets are too big and hard for my size girls they are between 20 and 25 weeks? Who knows maybe I'll try and purchase it next year when they are bigger. I'm sure other chickens like it, it just did not work for my girls.

Our chickens like this feed, and it’s easy to distribute to them, as it’s in pellet form. Other chicken feed has been lighter and flakier and it’s harder to handle. Our chickens gobble this up and they make great eggs!
